Forscan can disable auto-headlights . Or basically you set a new 'default' - to Off. I did this for a short while, but then realized I actually liked the auto-headlights.. So its back On.

Auto start/stop can also be disabled by Forscan. I disabled it for a while. But, I've turned it back on as I find it useful to have, sometimes, when I know I'll be sitting at stop lights or in a drive through. But I can't stand AS/S for stop signs. I just use Sport mode when I want to bypass AS/S now. Honestly, I'd prefer a switch to toggle it On/Off as in, not AUTO, but literally, toggle it on as i'm sitting at a long stop light or long drive through, for examples.

Collision avoidance I've had 1 positive trigger (audio only) in a parking lot while reversing out of a blind parking spot, and 2-3 false triggers while driving on the roads.. Just audio tones, no braking or evasive intervention. The false triggers are very annoying and distracting, and probably cause accidents.. While I'm wondering why my dash is flashing Red and audio tones are going off and trying to look around to figure out why its doing it. (Safety that is so protective that its not safe, go figure.)

Door locks - I don't know what you mean? I haven't had any trouble. I approach the door when its locked and when reaching for the handle it unlocks, every time. I open the door to exit the vehicle and i press the lock button inside, or tap the top of the door handle and it locks, every time. Are you experiencing some other behavior? (I actually really like how the locks function, but had similar functionality with my previous Focus ST, so I'm used to it.)

Can someone clarify how to turn on the auto headlights/brights? And stay on? So far mine has been turned on randomly without me being aware I did anything.

The truck defaults to auto-on headlights and it is not user-configurable outside of Forscan. Every time you start the truck, the headlight switch will be set to "A". Are you wanting to change that behavior?

The auto-high beam setting can be configured using the dash menu and steering wheel controls. Page 95 in your manual.

And on a side note, you can temporarily disable auto-high beams by flicking the stalk forward when the brights are on in auto mode. This turns off the auto-high beams, until you flick it forward again to enable high beams...then should be in auto-high beam mode again.

I use this trick regularly in some areas at night, since I don't like the high beams constantly going on/off as I round corners or due to hills. (I drive in an area with lots of hills and twisty roads.)
So to avoid blinding others, I just keep my high beams off in certain sections of road.

Barbara,
This is for the 22 to 24 model Mavericks. You'll be using the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel.
If you have a 2025 you're on your own.

Sounds like same for 25, according to their manual.
At least no one is entirely left on their own.
Of course pre-25MY could hug their manual! Sometimes even unwrap and open it!

SWITCHING AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM CONTROL ON AND OFF

  1. From the Settings menu, press Vehicle.
  1. Press Lighting.
  1. Switch auto high beam on or off.

Can't y'all 25+ Mav drivers just turn the headlight knob to "on" also?
Yes, still the knob.

My personal issue was that there are times where I want to enter and start the vehicle without all of the Lights turning on automatically.
Just for a more comfortable experience if sitting in the drive way /parking lot idling, for example.
Sure, just turn the knob to Off..
But it still starts with the lights ON, which effects eye adjustment from Dark, to bright, to dark...

Just a personal/courtesy thing. I don't want all my lights coming on, all the time, every time.
Sorta like the obnoxious horn honking when you leave the running vehicle with your key in your pocket.. (Disabled that garbage too.)
GM vehicles really annoy me with this.. There is no need for distracting the whole neighborhood/parking lot when locking your doors, or exiting a running vehicle.

I still run my interior lights on "Dark mode" 100% of the time, since I/my eyes prefer it. Passengers wonder why its so dark entering my vehicle.... but, who needs passengers anyway. ;)

BMS controls the auto start/stop's initial state. You can trick it into disabling it permanently far as I know or until you manually reset the BMS. What you do is hook up a bad battery to the truck and try to or actually start it if it will. Once the BMS picks up on it, it will disable auto start/stop as a feature not a flaw. Reason is if the truck is running, cutting out the engine with a low battery means no restart. That is the last thing you need at a traffic light for example.

Auto start stop can be annoying when it kicks in while you have the truck in neutral. Had it happen to me at the car wash and it set off all sorts of stuff when the chain couldn't pull the truck forward because neutral tow also got turned off.

Its weird you mention this. Mine only works in Drive. If I change to N or P, the engine auto-restarts. I would kinda like for it to stay stopped in N and P.. But I get why it restarts..

Yet another reason I'd prefer just having a simple switch to press when I WANT it to stop the engine, and only restart when I blip the throttle.

Not following... you want a button that functions differently than the current button?
