The problem there isn't a lack of standards, it's the device manufacturer poorly/improperly implementing the standards in those relatively rare cases.

USB is a standard, of which the type C connector is a subset. It's what everyone has been migrating to in recent years because of the smaller reversible connector.

USB-C is 9 years old now. It should have been the standard many years ago. USB-C is compatible with anything via adapters. The other way around has big limitations in power output. Apple proprietary Lighning connectors are hopefully finally on their way out, but even still a USB-C adapter is superior to USB-A one for Apple products. Only very old devices wouldn't benefit from the increased power potential of USB-C.

Mine has the dual USB c and my Uber customers just use the 110 volt outlet for their iPhones. I guess they're used to just carrying one of the little cubes in their pocket.

Mine is an xl with the 400 watt add-on. On a side note my mom's XL just has a regular cigarette lighter socket back there.

The 400 watt inverter gets you the back seat USB charging ports on xl and non-lux Mavericks.
I think the back of the center console comes with two options 1 is the 12v only and 2 as 400 watt and USB charging. So depending on what you order those are the two setup.
The USB A and C vs 2xC has no pattern that I can see.

Finally got around to taking a pic. Build date of 1/18/23, XLT hybrid with Lux package. Fascinating the variability in this. Kinda glad I have one of each in both the front seat and the back seat.

Makes you wonder if they just put whatever in that they have on hand when built.

Has anyone plugged in a PD tester on those USB-C ports to see what the maximum wattage (and/or the combinations of voltages and amperages) is(are) available?
