Do Fender Flares Change the Maverick Too Much?

I went with wheels that had wider offset plus wider tires so for me they are functional and I think look good. Debating painting them body color though.

I'm not for decorations that have no function. Fender Flares are designed to keep the tires within the wheel wells. If the tires fit within, no need for flares.

The front tires are well outside the wheel wells when turning. On a gravel or cruddy asphalt road - debris is kicked up onto painted steel wheel well edge.

The rear wheels are a different story. But having the fender flares on the front only looks weird

I see your point. Some members are concerned about getting fender dings on the paint (me among them) and see the flares functioning as protection.

If you add flares to keep the front tires from NEVER being exposed while turning they will be some large flares . Best way to prevent rock chips is never drive the vehicle. Of course a neighbor kid could shoot it with a BB gun (actually had that happen to a brand new vehicle the day I purchased it).

I don't have flairs and won't be installing them. If I had a different color I might. But the Atlas Blue Lariat looks more, I hate to say it this way, luxury than off road. I don;t want to cover the pretty blue paint . If I were to add flares based on threads here and on FB I would buy Mabett. Now if you had color matched I could be convinced to part with my money.

Yes on an Atlas Blue Tremor they do. With the 2024 Lariat wheels it would look like fender flares on Crown Vic

My wife had picked out a new 1997 Pontiac Montana mini van. Drove it home and parked it in the driveway. New Years Eve so she insisted we leave it home and take my 92 Ranger to the party. Came home to the passenger side sliding door window and the rear window shot out. Next day in day light several BB dings and several in our vinyl siding. When I went to the neighbor's house the Dad of course said that his son would never have done that. Only kid on the private road who got a BB gun for Christmas or owned 1 at all. Every house on the road had damage except his house.

The small paint ding/chips were on the lower edge where fender meets hairy cardboard. Fender flare covered them up. The slight width of the fender flare will absorb a neighboring car door or a shopping cart. I scraped my rear fender flare a couple times with a shopping cart - no mark

Fender Flares are mostly a “truck thing” and there for protection. The fender flares on aero sports cars with fat tires is another thing entirely.

I have no doubt, they would drastically change the look.
With the Tremor specific stickers and the black trim items, mud flaps and bed cover it might get a little too, ‘Busy’ for my taste,
on the sides.

With the new much liked by me black and white Ford Oval I might just leave the white King Ford sticker on the tail gate. They work together doncha’ thank !

I was reminded of the Toyota guy who had his Tacoma sealed in a Lucite box..
Damage is inevitable, if not by the owner someone else will step up.
BTW, was the BB shooter's grave ever discovered?

The kid was 10 or 11 at the time. We moved from there a couple years later. At the time we moved he had already been to juvenile court and heard from the other neighbors that just after he turned 18 he went to jail for vandalism. Of course his Dad probably still said he didn't do it.

Front bumper needed to be taken off for warranty work. The Ford Tech had to pull off & put back on the front part of my Mabett flare. Peeled off the original 3M tape and OEM plugs - then applied adhesive promoter & new tape to put back on. Put OEM plugs back in. Did a great job!

I installed fender flares, tailgate lettering on my 2025 Maverick to dress it up a little. I have had many compliments from people coming to look at my truck. The truck color and fender flares match my wife's RAV-4.

@Betsch I will be adding the fender flares and mud flaps to mine in a week, so a quick question. Do the flares get put in place first using the upper pins then the mud flaps, followed by inserting the lower pins and bolt, finally remove the tape off the flares?
