Since I installed my roof rack on the side rails, I can't slide up the divider. DIY bed divider with lockable hinges. I used a lighter weight 1x8 pine wood x2 cut to 54 1/4, lightly stained black. Cut in half and install lockable hinges for easy removal. Cheap hinge a pair for $12

What is the purpose of the hinges? I have a standard 2x6 painted matte black in mine. Your's is pretty but not seeing the reason for the hinges?

Minor "look out for" ... the referenced link lands on the 90 degree option by default ... if/ when ordering - make sure you select the 180 degree option.

More flexible handling? ... space saving storage? ... lighter weight? ... if you are happy with yours, more power to you.

@Bry thats pretty damn innovative . If i had that i'd be able to fold it up for stowage. under backseat on on top or fenderwell in bed with longer items flat

I wasn't criticizing his work, I was asking the purpose. If the board is bent in the middle, it offers some flexibility but not an increase in space. Does it? Hell, I am not an engineer.

pretty slick! Now you don't have to go back and forth unwedging the board out. Just unlock it and slide it out.

the description says 'for easy removal' but ... it's just as easy to lift and remove an uncut piece, and save $12, imo.

No joke. It's not going to be wood. The center hinge on the OPs divider, I have already thought of that a few weeks ago. I have 3/4" square tube for the frame, and expanded steel screen. Heavy duty hinges and latches. Cant decide on gloss black or silver.

I thought about doing that, but decided I’d get my fingers pinched every time I snapped it in place.
