iPhone lightning connectors are notoriously bad at maintaining connections. A wireless Carplay adapter solved all my problems.

Um... whenever you have weird issues you may consider doing a radio hard reboot because it will solve most of your problems. Basically hold down the power button at the same time as the fast forward button until you see the radio shut off and the Ford logo reappear.

Defective unit is what all signs point to. Phone always works fine with my other vehicles. (bluetooth, not cable) Camera worked fine for about the first 5k miles or so.
Blutooth sucks in this car it’s true. I just CarPlay now. It used to drop my phone once per trip

Since the current infotainment cannot do everything over bluetooth (maps, etc), I don't use bluetooth at all. My routine is to start the vehicle, unlock my phone and plug it in. I use a small 1ft cable with right-angle connectors on each end, so it fits nearly perfectly and rests in the upright phone rest without cable wound up or hanging anywhere. I've been pleasantly surprised with how well everything works after reading some pretty negative posts here on the forums.

That said, I hope future models offer more robust technology options. Wanting a small truck shouldn't lock me out of options for top-tier technology.

Well, I'd have to agree with the original poster about the info system. Mine has been pretty bad since day 1. I've updated the software, using the wireless adaptor and it still is a 50/50 shot of working properly. (I had used the connector, thinking the Motorola add on might help)

The touchscreen is pretty bad, having to hit spots three or four times with my finger to get a response, randomly stops working, won't allow calls sometimes, and Amazon music goes nuts the first time you use it, every time. That said, I'm going in for the oil change, and hopefully they can figure out if it's just a bad unit.

Good morning. If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your infotainment concerns on my end.

LoL, so you can call the OP (while he is at work ;)) and ask why the OP vehicle is not working right and what the OP is doing to help the OP. :ROFLMAO:

It's the thought that counts...

Not sure how much thought there was, so it doesn't count that much. ;)

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

I thought this was normal operation.

exactly. bluetooth provides calls and audio, but it doesn't provide navigation or any apps so your choices are wireless adapter for android auto or apple carplay, or just plugging in your phone to one of the 2 connectors in the lower right center dash.

it's not difficult. wired is a lot more reliable than bluetooth no matter what phone you have.

Buy a Apple cable. I don’t know the difference but it fixed my issues. On delivery use an Apple cable was the first thing he told me. I do not understand the cable connection and not blue tooth like Android.

I just discovered this today. I was checking a route & travel time before I left the house using Google maps. Since I wanted the time, I hit start before getting in the truck.

Caught me by surprise, the audio directions came through Bluetooth as soon as I started the truck. I just set my iPhone on the charging pad & on my way.

Nothing but audio, but that was still cool. Interesting, to me anyway, every time is spoke a direction the Mav display showed a phone call from my phone number.

I have Ford Navigation, but don’t like it, so I’ve been plugging in for Apple car play.

This was a nice middle solution.

The Maverick system is rubbish... It's the worst on the market.
My 2012 Renault has a much better system....
