I had never heard of Diode Dynamics until I saw several mentions of their products on this forum.

Hopefully, next year I will have a Maverick hybrid sitting in my driveway with an aftermarket spray in bed liner and Diode Dynamics yellow fog lights.

Here is the kit for the Ford Ranger to give you some idea of what the Maverick kit will probably be like:

https://www.diodedynamics.com/stage-series-led-lightbar-kit-for-2019-2021-ford-ranger.html

I prefer the yellow fog light kit with two 6" light bars.

As I'm not too keen on drilling holes in brand new vehicles, maybe some of you who already have your Maverick can suggest a good way to mount the switch for the fog lights.

Why get the fog lights? They are DOT street legal, supplement the regular headlights under normal driving conditions, may actually be useful in rain/snow/fog, and especially because I like the way they look!

I sent them a message I'll update the thread when they respond.

I have also been seriously pondering fog lights, and keep coming back to Diode Dynamics. Not sure I want to do the install myself, also concerned about adding a switch to the dash.

Interesting. One of my pet peeves about my current car is that the headlights do a poor job of side lighting. If you have to make a sharp right turn in the dark you literally can not see the road. The mav headlights look better but if it turns out to have a similar issue I will get something like this and angle them outward a bit.

I've found that keeping Teriyaki Boyz on my playlist on demand can actually fix this problem.

Might consider upgrading to LEDs in the back. My ideal would be to replace the red turn brake/signal combo with amber signals, not sure if that’s practical but it would be nice.
I'm interested in LEDs for front turn signals and side lights, and everything in the rear including the license plate. Cargo lights too. Diode Dynamics has lots of interesting upgrades for the Ranger. Should have similar products for the Maverick.

I had Diode Dynamics SS3 lamps on my Forester. They are really really good...excellent optics.

The only mounting point I can think of that doesn't require drilling is making a weird bracket that attaches to the upper bolts on the FX4 tow hooks and then works it's way down to come out the opening. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of tapped holes on the front of the vehicle. There's one on each side on either side of the grille as well...but the grille has moving slats that close when the vehicle is warming up so you can't really mount anything there.

Could you mount in the lower grille opening? Is the plastic cross bar strong enough and deep enough for mounting brackets (needs about 2” for an SAE fog light bar)? Otherwise Diode Dynamics has flush mount lights that may work in the outer corners of the lower bumper.

the plastic bar in front of the intercooler opening is not strong enough to mount anything to

Yeah...you want something sturdy with hopefully three points of contact. The lights probably won't fall off if they are attached to a plastic bar but they will vibrate like crazy and the shakey beam will drive you nuts.
