Installed my @Diode Dynamics ditch light kit over the weekend. I went with the SS3 pro pods to match my fog lights. Their install video is helpful, especially if you have a hybrid. I wish there was an easy way to tap into the headlight harness wires to have the backlight come on automatically with the running lights and the full power come on with the high beams. So I decided to just use the switch. I actually swapped out the round switch that comes with the kit for a rectangle one that fits better on my headlight switch panel. The easiest mount for the relay was using my catch can bracket, most other spots I could think of were too far away from the battery terminals. I decided to run the passenger side wires thru the front of the engine bay under the intake scoop, that seemed to most straight forward instead of trying to go under the wiper cowl area.

Overall this is a nice kit, and super bright. The backlight feature is pretty cool too. The install is also pretty easy on our trucks.

It's easy to tap the running lights to power the backlight. I did that with my SS3 fogs without any issues. I don't know why these would be any different.

There are 2 harness included to operate them. One wires to the switch that powers both the backlight and main beam. The other has 2 connectors that would trigger the backlight and trigger the main beam. It would be easy to grab the trigger for the backlight from the parking light but there isn't a way to tap a wire for the high beam to trigger the ditch light beam. If that makes sense

Yeah, that makes sense. I didn't use the included harness nor a relay needing a trigger. Or, well, I did use the harness wiring to create my own harness. I'm just powering the backlights off of the right parking light and the fog lamps off the L/R BCM fog outputs, so not exactly what you're trying to accomplish with the ditch lights.
