Yessir and they are always a drug you don’t need and the side effects are terminal.
Once you’re no longer working and paying taxes it’s big pharma’s job to get you dead and out of the picture.

Warning ! The Surgeon General has determind that smoking can cause cancer.

Should read take pharmaceutical’s and you’ll die.
Or the one they say very fast at the end at a reduced volume, “can cause liver failure”

That wasn't the reason for the wage increase, though. While it's true that ford doubled the going $5 a day wage, it wasn't so that workers could afford to buy one. Rather, turnover was 400%/year in the industry. At $10/day, a worker couldn't Mae the same elsewhere, and stuck around more than ther three month average, giving Ford the most experienced work force.
They should try that today.

Getting further off topic - we stream a bit of news from overseas, usually BBC so we can get some "less" biased news. Their commercials are very different - hardly any drug ads, but tons of legal gambling!

I live in Michigan so I see tons of ads about gambling. FanDuel, DraftKings, hard Rock bet casino, betmgm, and a few more I can't remember. If it weren't for gambling ads and drug ads I wouldn't have to watch commercials during breaks. Not that I actually watch I'm usually on my phone posting like this when the commercials are on.

Ford barely advertises anything but the F Series. Have you ever seen a Ranger commercial? When was the last time you saw a Mustang commercial?
Ford is now advertising the Ranger a lot. The Ranger was the truck of the year also. I see commercials almost daily. Prior to this year I never saw a Ranger commercial. Ford doesn't have to advertise the Maverick as it sells itself by word of mouth. I love my Ranger and so far love my Maverick even though the Maverick is a bit over a week old.

Prior to Ford's use of standardized parts (and the assembly line, of course), most cars were essentially hand-built.
Ford was first for the full blown assembly line.

Cadillac, though, was several years ahead in interchangeable parts.

In an era in which the master mechanics basically sat at tables figuring out which pieces would need the least adjustment work with one another (e.g., piles of cylinders and piles of pistons), Cadillac was building replacement parts that could go out into the field to fit what came from the factory.

Cadillac received it's first Dewar Trophy in 1908 in a challenge (which it had proposed) in which three cars were sent, disassembled, and the pieces randomly assigned for reassembly.

All three ran. IIRC, one is still extant, with two lost to resale and the sands of time.

(the second one to cadillac was for the 1914 self starter).

Ford mastered/introduced the assembly line with it's massive benefits, but it wasn't the pioneer in interchangeable parts.
