It isn't something I need but did you attach the cover as a trim piece for the center console, possibly combine it with one of the carbon fiber/multi colored versions?

We can try molding to see if it's suitable. We have also considered this issue.

I too, would be interested. Would like to see actual picture of your solution and how it mounts. I also need to access it every time I start to select my drive mode. Needs to be durable. Have currently fashioned a cardboard piece that mounts in the slot on hybrids to protect from accidental operation. It works, but is less than good appearing.
The principle is to use 3m adhesive. Please wait a moment, we have a 3D printed sample.

1. A cover that snaps on over the side of the console (NO screws)

2. Round holes in the cover that would allow a finger to go through to push a given button.

Perhaps, even different solutions depending on the model. The hybrid's "slot" does allow different style mounts and covers. The number of buttons also differs depending on the model. The holes would seem to make a cover a debris collector.

No thank you, my automatic process is 1 press the start button 2 press the auto start button/stop button to disable 3 rotate shift dial to drive 4 go like ya stole it
I have no desire to have to mess with a lid/cover

Looks like the best idea so far now just a matter of holding it down

Just to chime in that it’s not something I’d be interested in. I get the concept but I use the drive mode button too frequently do want to deal with a cover.

Also, my dog is a 90lb Lab Pyrenees mix and if she is putting a paw anywhere near those buttons while I’m driving, I have much bigger issues than a button getting pressed. 😂
