To me, a vehicle that you have to find somewhere to charge with high amperage electricity is way more complex than a gas vehicle with electric motor assist and regenerative braking. I'm not an engineer, but I always wanted to drive a train. (I also have worked with engineers, and had to explain to them how things worked in 3D).
The thought of a train engineer without depth perception (2d vision?) Is scary. A utube of you explaining "life in 3d" would be interesting.🤔

We bought a 2011 Escape Hybrid with 36k miles on it. Now over 170k; still going strong. Relax. Or buy something else you are more comfortable with.

There's alot to unpack there. I live in the extremely hilly Ozarks of MO on gravel/dirt roads. I have to negotiate a long steep downward hill when leaving my place and then plenty of up and down hills for 2 1/2 miles before I get to the tarmac.

I have not experienced anything like you have with my hybrid. And I never pay attention to where the HVB's state of charge is, except after backing into my carport and if the ICE starts I will let it run until it stops running. I assume it starts running to charge the HVB. If so, then when I leave my place and head downhill my HVB is probably well charged. At the bottom of the hill I brake and come to a stop to make a left turn and there is no funny business.

Puzzling. I hope it gets sorted for you.

Please explain the recall. I am not aware of a recall concerning this issue.
..
Sorry, I misspoke. There is not a recall, and maybe not even a TSB.

There have been some affected hybrid owners with a condition mentioned in this thread that had their harnesses replaced. The context of my remark is that had it been just one errant connection, the repair would have been limited to the connector rather than the entire harness.

Zero reason to be concerned for a MY23 order. This production issue will be fixed and won't be a problem. Unfortunately for us MY22ers it is an issue. I'm not worried one bit about it long term because it's a simple problem with a simple fix. However since the immediate result is a bricked mav I'm def hoping the solder machine was running good when mine went through the line. Hopefully Ford comes up with a solution asap to recall this so it won't be a worry anymore.

I keep seeing more and more threads, both here and on Reddit, about Hybrid owners with battery drainage issues (I.e. waking up to a completely dead truck in the garage that needs to be jumped) or even hybrids that entirely shut down while in motion - including at highway speeds. This all apparently has to do with an issue with the wiring harness but I have to say, it’s making me second guess my thoughts about ordering a 2023 Hybrid. Anyone else starting to get cold feet?
More worried about 10 dollar a gallon gas.

Yes, I am aware of the few dead hybrids and that there is no recall or TSB. Please be more careful with your wording because folks that read your post will be misinformed, that is why I asked you to explain.

I have no concerns about mine. If it happens, it happens, and I will get it fixed under warranty.

When my Mav comes in I’ll have a 9 hour drive home with it. I was a bit worried about the cable issue but since my build date is in Sept I’m hoping it will be fixed from the factory.
no decent dealer would release a vehicle with a recall, and theres always you to remind them when the vehicle comes in.

It’s a simple fix, a bolt that needs to be tightened. Check out the you tube video on the fix. Or better yet email Tim, All vehicles have some technical issues during launch year. I have yet to hear of any reported fires, Wouldn’t,t you want an automobile company that takes precautions or one that ignores a potential issues.
