Totally normal. You can turn off the delay in the display settings
That is not what the OP is talking about. That setting is for the delay that allows the backup camera to remain on when you shift out of reverse.

Considering mine is basically useless half the year, I've never really noticed much of a delay lol.

I've never noticed a delay to come on, because when I put the truck in Reverse, I immediately look at the mirrors, not the screen. If I look at that screen at all, it's when I've almost finished backing into a space or parallel parking. I then look at the red lines on the screen to verify I'm not about to back into something. Other than that, I never use it, mainly because the view is much clearer in the mirrors.

Hi, has anyone noticed that there’s a slight delay after switching to reverse before the back up camera video appears on the screen. My cars in the past and even my wife’s Lexus switches instantly when I put it in reverse, but I’ve noticed like slight delay before the video appears on screen for my Maverick. It’s not a long delay but it’s not instant. Curious to see if anyone else is having this experience.
Yes, I’ve had that happen intermittently. I mentioned it to the service department when our ‘22 XLT Hybrid went in for recall service and intermittent problems are difficult to solve. Hoping someone here has found a real solution.

Yes, my '23 XLT hybrid takes about 2 seconds in Reverse before the camera image displays. This is annoying but I can live with it. My previous car had no such feature!

It didn’t get fixed in the 24 model year. It’s about 2 seconds from selector going to R and screen turning on the camera. It sucks.

Yes, this happens to me every now and then. Almost looks like it freezes for a couple of seconds. My Maverick is a 2024 XLT AWD with the Lux package with 1,700 miles. VIN#
