The A/C compressor is a scroll compressor and it's much more efficient than older technology. It's also a variable speed compressor and as such it will dial down the power if extreme cooling isn't needed. All you are accomplishing by setting it to 'LO' is to force it to run the compressor at maximum power and speed instead of allowing it to step down.

It really is a modern HVAC system, so I'd recommend not worrying if the compressor is running or not and just set it to a desired temperature and let it maintain it. If you want a dumb HVAC system, you've simply bought the wrong vehicle (or just roll the windows down).

That's not sass, it's just the way it is.

You might also consider redirecting the flow away from the upper vents and to the defroster and foot vents to prevent the air-stream from hitting you directly if you are sensitive to the change in temp during cycles.
Is the compressor on an EcoBoost the same as on a hybrid?
I ask because the OP owns an EcoBoost.

You got me curious so I looked up the part numbers. There are separate compressors and given the cost difference, I'd wager they are not at all the same. I'd have wagered that they'd used the same compressor in both models for simplicity, but it seems not.

The primary difference is how they are powered: the EcoBoost uses a traditional belt-driven AC compressor, while the hybrid uses a high-voltage electric motor to power its 3 phase scroll compressor independently. This allows the hybrid's AC to function at different levels of efficiency, even when the gasoline engine is off, providing continuous cooling and improved fuel efficiency by not relying on the engine's RPM for cooling.

Can you verify that the blend door is fully open to the outside with no heat from the heater core at that setting?

Second, when the AC turns on–which it will do anyway–do you honestly believe it holds the temperature?

Yeah, 1st world problem, with a 1st world solution. Run the AC all the time. But that's what I don't want to do.
You have the choice to not run the AC all the time with respect to your settings however The humidity check will run the air slower than fan speed 1 in the floor area and when the temp approaches the dew point the air speed will be increased and outside air to adjust temp can be introduced or the AC can be ran to adjust temp away from the dew point. Excessive running could be an indication of a problem. Put a standalone humidistat into truck and check to see if trucks is operating as it should.

Setting the direction or temp up did not fix the problem, but I have been having less issues, likely due to the fact that it is a lower humidity time of year.
