I read that it’s not a good idea to move the wipers by hand. It could damage the wiper motor. Makes sense to me.With the truck switched off, you can rotate the wiper arms up to mid position, and lift the wiper arms up off the glass. Just remember to flip the wipers back down onto the window, BEFORE starting the truck:

Proof? There's no resistance when you rotate them vertical, and they just retract into the stowed position when you start the truck. If anything is going to burn the wiper motor out, it would be trying to operate it with the wiper blades frozen to the windshield, and/or having snow & ice packed around the wiper arms. That's quite the trough the wiper arms retract into, which packs with snow. I have to clean that out thoroughly by hand before driving. PITA when it's -30C out.I read that it’s not a good idea to move the wipers by hand. It could damage the wiper motor. Makes sense to me.
Yeah I think it's a terrible design, apparently lots of other vehicles are doing the same thing lately. Big finger to you guys up north lol.Proof? That seems like a good idea, using a cover, but never see anyone using one!? I often have the block heater, battery charger, and a Little Buddy interior warmer going, plugged in a good 1 1/2 hours before starting the truck or scraping the windows.Yeah I think it's a terrible design, apparently lots of other vehicles are doing the same thing lately. I just found out about FrostGuard (Deluxe/Vortex type, XL size for Maverick), I wonder if this would be a good option for you guys up there to avoid scraping the windshield and digging out that snowpack in the wiper park area? This is just one name brand there are plenty of companies making these things.
