My theory……….
Higher MPGs, more battery problems.
Lower MPGs, fewer battery problems.
Just a theory. Always exceptions.
Now form a test and verify or discard.

So far MY 22 has some sort of issue with this 57% of the time and MY 23 has it 23% of the time. Surely duration of ownership is a factor but I doubt that explains it all. The faulty cable connection surely played a role in some of the MY 22s. There is improvement I believe in MY 23 but that might be because cable issue is gone and batteries are fresher.

Again I see this as an issue whenever you are getting frequent deep sleep mode or battery saver messages and or when your having to jump your vehicle even when you are regularly driving it.

If the vehicle is operating as designed and having these issues then it seems either the batteries are low quality or the design is flawed.

Could be BOTH at the same time and probably is both.

I don't own an RV (yet) but played around with "Neutral Tow Mode" just to learn how it works.

I followed all the directions to flat tow the Maverick behind a motorhome then rolled it down a hill.

The radio stayed on.
Why would the radio be "active" while towing behind a motorhome?

So my truck used to go right into deep sleep/battery saver mode right after I turned off the car. It was almost instant. I've done every TSB/Recall related to the battery already and fortunately, I've never had a no-start situation, just the inconvenience of no cabin lights. Did you do all the recalls? The cable overlay recall is supposed to remedy the no-start situation esp if your battery seems to be fine. To have to jumpstart your truck that many times even with new batteries is absurd.

The 1st time I replaced the battery, it was because it had a bad cell. The second time, was because the engineering department's plethora of solutions didn't work (battery was fine btw) so they were like just replace the battery....and low and behold, things are fine.
My maverick is a 2023 so I wasn’t affected by the battery cable issues.

After the first few times it died on me the dealership performed SSM 51598 (this consists of replacing a fuse). They said the battery tested fine, but it kept dying. Then they replaced the battery with another OEM battery. It died one more time, but then was fine for a couple months (after the dealership charged my new battery).

Now it has suddenly started dying again. It’s persistently in deep mode. The battery is testing fine and my dealership can’t find the issue.

Could I ask when your 23 was built and how long after you got it did you start seeing trouble? Mine was built June 1 and I have had it almost 4 months and no messages or anything.

Mine was built in January. I picked it up at the very end of February. It first died on me at the very end of May. I did not see any deep sleep messages or any other warnings signs until the first day that it was randomly dead when I went out to drive it.

So early 2023 built and you had it around 3 months before problems.

My MY22 Maverick XLT Hybrid (that got sold to Carvana) did originally have about four deep sleep messages.

I just charged the 12V battery overnight.

I never had a DEAD battery just the FordPass App messages. I always was able to READY the Maverick and drive.

After I had TSB-2060 (Grabby Brake Issue) done the Deep Sleep issues went away.

I believe that TSB-2060 also updated the 12V battery charging software.

My MY23 Maverick XLT Hybrid has had no Deep Sleep issues over the month I have had it.

I have a 12 Volt/Temperature gauge plugged into the front 12V Power Socket and the 12 Volt battery voltage has always been between 12.4 and 12.9 volts when not being charged and shows 14.4 Volts when it is being charged.

I have the same thing for my truck. My experience for the first 4 months was the same. Now that it’s getting cold those numbers are all over the place. Turn the car on the reading can be anywhere from 14.4 to 15.2 and turning the car off I see 11.9 to 12.8.
I’d like to probe the relationship between relatively high mpg (45+), and the “deep sleep” notification.
If one drives in such a way as to achieve great mileage, then that, by definition, means a lot of battery usage.
On the other hand, if one does a lot of highway driving, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was never a notification.
I’ve been getting 53mpg on total miles driven (almost 17k). Lots of deep sleep notes.
Two months ago I took a 3day, 1000mile round trip. Lots of highway 80+mph miles. DS notes stopped.
Then we flew away for three weeks. Still no DS notes.
Yesterday I drove about 10 miles, back roads,<45mph. No problems.
Woke up this morning to a DS.
So……….
Here’s betting that getting good mileage (no doubt one of Ford’s desires) results in more Deep Sleep notifications.
Ironic. My first deep sleep notification was 3 days of my car sitting after an 80 mile highway drive. That was 3 weeks ago. Since then nothing until This past week. Every morning. I even drive out of my way to work everyday hoping to avoid this. Smh

My 12v battery is stuck in the middle like the Middle Class in the USA.

Too poor to do anything fun.
Too rich to get any assistance.

Been told twice 11.8 to 12.2 is "normal".
Because, ya know, it's supposed to be a 12 volt battery. I'm unreasonable to want 12.6 volts.

Hybrid poverty spec truck built in 09/2023, took delivery 09/30/2023.

140 total miles so far, as the truck has been sitting in the garage. We have been doing the usual things - deep clean, ceramic coating, wrap, installing sound baffling, fixing the headliner, etc. - that you do when you get a new vehicle.

We have mainly driven it to re-position it every few days so we can work on a different part of the truck. Only occasionally enough to activate the ICE.

While working on the truck, and while it is off and has been off for long periods of time, it will click and make other noises as we move around it. So something is definitely on and operational even when the truck is supposedly off.

I don't lock my vehicles.

Truck is parked in garage, enjoys moderate air conditioning, no big temperature swings.

I do have the Ford Pass app, and it has sent me multiple notifications about remote features being turned off to save the battery. Some days it has sent me multiple notifications per day.

In less than a month of ownership, the battery has gone completely dead twice.

We have had voltage readings below 12.0V more than once per the multimeter. Even before the battery started dying, we had low readings.

We have taken multimeter readings on the terminals under the hood, and it will show a voltage that changes every second. 11.8V - 2.8V - 11.8V - 2.8V on repeat, in a regular, one-second interval. I have never seen that before.

I have never owned a truck, car or motorcycle that has power issues like this in the first month, no, not even the first year, of ownership.

Please let follow up with us on this post and let us know if you get your problem resolved. Your issue sounds very similar to mine, although my issues took a few months to manifest.

I hesitate to reply. Picked up my 2023 Lariat Hybrid in July. Has been perfect so far. By typing this I may have cursed my self.
We both got our Lariats about the same time. Let’s see who gets the messages first. Hopefully neither of us.

I will only have to deal with it once. There will not be a third time, if there is a second time it will be sold.

Well the battery saver mode to me is acceptable if it happens after a long duration of the vehicle not being driven. I would probably buy a high quality battery first but yeah I wouldn’t put up with all kinds of unexplainable deep sleeps and non starts. No way.

I have a hybrid Corolla Cross that we got after the Maverick. I’m not expecting these issues with it either. We shall see.
