My brand new XLT which has Copilot 360 drifts partially across the center line or onto the shoulder before correcting, sometimes to cross over to (and past) the other. Is there something wrong or merely a limitation of the system. We have an Escape Titanium that stays right in the center hands-free.

The XL and XLT have lane keeping, not lane centering.

You are absolutely correct.

Bob,
Welcome to The forum and to your first thread. 🤝
Why would you assume a middle trim XLT Maverick would have options that your Escape Titanium has? Titanium being the highest option package for the Escape..

Do you have Adaptive Cruise
Control?

It appears Ford and I have different definitions for "gently '! LOL
I don't know about a 2025.
If you own a 2022-2024 model
and it has Lane-Keeping System/Assist
Intensity is adjustable.

What is yours adjusted to?

Sorry for veering off topic a bit. But this thread got me thinking about what vehicle I owned over 55 years of driving that was best defined as a deathtrap. Without a doubt, it was my sixties era VW Karmann Ghia. With a rusted out floorplan. I was the crumple zone.

The 'system limitation' is the driver who thinks they do not have to participate in driving the vehicle. If you don't want to actually drive, get an Uber.

I don’t fully get why you say this is a bad post. I really don’t care about hands free or adaptive anything, but what exactly is wrong with it?

also, I learned the difference between lane keeping assist and lane centering. Did not know that before this post.

Honestly, I'd just turn it off and go back to driving like you have been without that technology, the number of times in my 50 years of driving that I think I would have found the co-pilot and lane center useful or valuable is exactly Zero.

Then you haven’t spent 10 minutes on this site or Fords researching the vehicle you bought.

This is a shitpost. Period.
