I think Ford needs to rethink how they brand/label/describe the Co-pilot family of products. They leave everyone confused including the dealers and sales people. Essentially there are different "levels" of CoPilot360. Ford is essentially nudging people up the trim levels to get the features they are after. People have started to assume that most vehicles now have adaptive cruise. And a lot of people have come to assume lane assist means lane centering. So lots of people are confused. If I hadn't been watching a lot of Long McArthur vids on the Maverick I wouldn't have known the differences to be honest. And when I went out shopping for quotes from dealers I found out that most of them don't know the differences.
I agree the branding of these driver assist technologies is terrible and confusing. Our 24 RAV 4 has similar features and is even more confusing than the Ford.

I am relatively new here. The most discouraging posts, by far, are the angry men who think new people to this site should know exactly how things work and/or what was posted twice before, years ago. I’m sure they’re joys to be around in person.
And the ones that simple things, 'Drives them crazy.'
Like the beeping that comes from the hybrid when it's in reverse or the humming when it's going forward under 10mph. Feeling the need to push the seatbelt ok button because they can't wait 60 sec. for it to turn off.
That's got to be a short drive. 😱

Except for extreme circumstances.
I feel moderators/Admin. should stay out of our threads and postings.
The title can be edited by the OP if they wish.
I don't agree....he admits to using "deathtrap" to attract attention (outright lying about an issue), moderators do what moderators do....moderate. In this case, it should either be changed or locked by the moderators. The moderators over at Blue Oval Forums can sometimes be seen as "heavy handed" but I appreciate their efforts even when I am the one being moderated.

I do enjoy the banter and back-n-forth but sometimes, it gets a little off the rails for sure.

I guess it time for a poll.
Those who want more intrusion by moderator's/ administration.
Or
Those who prefer less interference.

Fun way to skew the result of any "poll".....use draconian labels. Check.

I research everything really well before buying. I mean I look at photos, I read reviews, I look at manuals, I Read with the product says and then ask questions so I'm very anal about knowing most everything before I buy something. And I'll be honest I purchased the Ford Co-Pilot on my 2024 but I knew going in it was blis, and Lane assist, not centering, and I believe pre-collision breaking. I don't recall now because that was a year ago. But at that time I knew.

Sorry for veering off topic a bit. But this thread got me thinking about what vehicle I owned over 55 years of driving that was best defined as a deathtrap. Without a doubt, it was my sixties era VW Karmann Ghia. With a rusted out floorplan. I was the crumple zone.
Yeah, but what a fun car!

Yeah, but there's that one Mod over at BOF that comes across like he has a seat in the Boardroom, and tries to pass his opinion off as fact. I have to wonder if his former employer had any idea just how much time he spent during the day tending to the multiple forums he's on,,,,,

"copilot 360" confusion is because of the depreciated capabilities of later models. It's poor characterization just like "self driving mode" or "autopilot". If a pilot passes out and the plane is headed towards the ground the copilot would take over. What we have here is the 3rd flight person sometimes in the cabin - the flight engineer - who might speak up and call attention to a disastrous outcome but not necessarily have the means to correct it.

If you need a new car, want the best fuel mileage you can find, want to be able to tow 2000 lbs, know that if you do research before you order one you will be paying an additional 2000 dollars, the dealer tells you another dealer has requested the car they have on the lot that some else ordered but no longer wanted (Mavericks don't sit around long) and you have 2 days to decide yes or no, you pull the trigger. Add in the fact you already have a Ford with lane assist that really steers the car and the dealer (sales and service) knows nothing about the difference between the operation of lane assist in XLs, XLTs,Lariat, Tremors, and Lobos it's not hard to believe that Ford has screwed up something. I am looking forward to perusing the MTC site to learn as much as I can. As for my statement concerning leaving off AC 360, if it won't at least keep me in my own lane I don't see the purpose of having it at all.

Thanks much for the video, Glen. Couldn't tell, does your Maverick cross the center line or onto the shoulder before it steers you back into the lane you are in? Mine does. At least 2 feet. That's why I'm so concerned

Yes my Maverick may meander over a line once in awhile, not often.
Like life, it's not absolute. Sometimes stuff happens, we make corrections or my case edits 😁and keep moving.
