The 2.0L EcoBoost has knock sensors and Ford's Octane Adjust Ratio (OAR) system that allow you to safely run 87 to 93 octane without any problems at all. Yes, higher octane will increase power slightly, I would use higher octane if i were towing all the time. But I will stick with 87, which I have run in all the Fords I've had over the years (except for the 6.0L diesel). I have never had a problem with running regular 87 octane fuel. Even on my tuned F-150 3.5L—which had an SCT tuner with custom 87 and 93 octane tunes—I ran the 87 tune all the time.


For the 2.0L EcoBoost™ engine, the fuel specifications and tank capacity are as follows:

Your vehicle is designed to operate on regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87[1].

Fuel Tank Capacity
The advertised capacity for the 2.0L EcoBoost™ engine (excluding Hybrid models) is 16.5 gal (62.4 L)[2].
The advertised capacity is the maximum amount of fuel you can add when the fuel gauge indicates empty[3]. The tank also contains an unspecified "empty reserve" amount that remains when the gauge shows empty[3].

That makes sense. There must have been a longer period where the SuperTech filters were basic Wix in a white can than AI claims, because I used a ton of those when I was driving 30-40K miles a year not a decade ago. Been a long time since I bought them though, and wasn't aware they were made by Champion Labs in a blue can for some time.

Pretty sure most of the parts stores switched their filters to Premium Guard (made in Asia) because Wix / Mann Hummel could not supply enough, or so they said, so I wonder who will pick up the slack with another American company being ran out of business by the finance bro wonders.

About a decade ago was when most of the SuperTech filters were WIX and a few years before that, Champion Labs. Mann + Hummel bought WIX in 2016 and slowly has made most of the former WIX offerings just rebadged Purolator designs. Purolator is not all that anymore either and has quality problems in their basic and mid tier offerings.

PGI buying the former Champion Labs factory is actually a good thing and the hope by many is they dump the legacy FRAM fiber end caps and transition to the something resembling their overseas Made in China or Vietnam filters that have outstanding quality.

OK, toss value of actually reading that slop.

or maybe the owner's manual is updated by AI (which would explain some of the other reported oddities).

Either that, or we all missed out on the hybrid Ecoboost . . .

I actually pulled the owners manual out of the glove compartment on a Mazda loaner this afternoon.

The bluetooth had reached the maximum number of phones. It offered to delete phones, the spinner travels between the known phones, and pushing it marks them. But there's a second column in which the trash can lights up once at least one is selected. but no way I could find to get to the second column.

So I checked the manual--and absolutely nothing about this!
