Looks like I am one of the unlucky ones. I think my local dealership is being dishonest and screwing me over.

I ordered a velocity blue Maverick with a bunch of options last August. I did it at the dealership and paid my deposit.
I tracked my order in the Ford website and was excited when it finished production in November and showed delivery for 1/08/2022.

On January 8th I saw that the website showed it was delivered. I even drove by the Dealership that night and saw a nice velocity blue Maverick on the lot a distance. It was late and didn’t get close cause I didn’t want to have a problem with security.

So I called the dealership the next day so that I could come over but the sales guy tells me that the Maverick I ordered has not arrived yet. And they expect it in the next couple days. Well ok I wait a couple days and the sales guy says it will arrive next week. And then tells me the same thing the following week.

Today the dealership tells me it has not arrived and they expect it in March. I asked the guy how is that possible the site says it was delivered. So he referred me to another guy that supposedly places the order and tells me the same thing.

I called Ford corporate and they confirmed that it arrived on January 8th.

I am losing hope with this dealership and I’m gonna request my deposit back and take my business elsewhere.

Update.

I went to the dealership and talked to the sales guy in charge of orders.
He told me I am not the only one with the same problem and that Ford is having system issues and their tracking is not accurate. My Maverick is not in his computer. He made a copy of the VIN number and will contact Ford corporate on Monday.

This is my first time hearing that Ford is having system issues with the tracking.
Has anybody heard or experienced this?

Why don't you confront the dealer with the VIN, the tracking information, and the fact that Ford corporate said the vehicle was delivered?

Or you can just walk away defeated.

Did you check your build email VIN# with the VIN# of the Maverick(s) that got delivered to the dealership?

Obv if they sold it out form underneath you there are things you can do. But you just did nothing when you actually saw it? Not even drive over and get pics? Confirmed the VIN?

Yeah I’m really hitting myself in the head for not getting close and checking the VIN that night. I was just trusting that they would do right by me.
I will be going to the dealership to talk to someone in person about this, cause it’s major BS.

I asked the sales guy if they sold it and he said no no we can’t because it a reservation. Maybe that’s the goal, for me to walk away and they can sell it with a markup.

The dealership obviously has the VIN of the blue one you saw. Ask to see that and if it matches, pick out the most expensive thing on the lot and tell them to let you have that as a loaner till "yours" shows up. Other wise you'll call Ford and let them know what happened.

You def need to go in person and get the real story. If things aren't right call ford and/or message Mike Levine. Because if they sold it from underneath you that's clear cut case of something dealers can't really get away with easily. Obv you're still screwed but at least there might be some satisfaction.

If they did sell your order, you should also blast their names and the story on as many SM sites as you can. Let them know what’s about to happen and see if you can any satisfaction out of that. If not blast away.

Sounds like he’s talking out of his ass. Seriously, get a hold of Mike Levine and corporate; hopefully they can sort it out.

Update. I gave up on this dealership and my Maverick. They kept telling me they will have an update tomorrow every time I called or showed up. I am pretty sure they just sold it to someone else when it arrived on the lot and will not admit it.
The dealership offered me a different car or to place another Maverick order, which signals a red flag that they were not being truthful.

I needed a new car so I purchased something else. Just could not wait anymore. Maverick was not meant for me I guess.

I got the Ford Customer Relations number from Ford Marketing. So I will submit a complaint there about this dealership.

Do not buy from Corwin Ford in Reno folks.

Why not run CarFax on your VIN? It will show that they received it and sold it out from under you. And it will have dates. What this dealer did is a major problem and I wouldn’t feel the need to be nice about it.

You didn’t buy a different vehicle from these guys in the end, did you?

Nah I was not gonna give them any money after what they pulled. Got my deposit back as well. I got another truck at a different dealership.

A proper carfax report is $40. Im not sure I should spend any money on it now that I have moved on. It would only double confirm my disappointment haha.
