I didn't want to install the same TRASH axles and have to fix it again in 15-20k miles so I installed Tremor CV axles.
I thought the replacement axles corrected the design fault in the originals. If so I don't think you have any case. Even if you replaced the axles like-for-like, I still don't think you have a case. Ford has a programme in place to replace the original axles should they fail.

But there wasn't a program YET when I did the repair and there was no evidence at the time that the faulty parts had been upgraded in any way. The only parts that I knew were better quality than the original defective parts were the Tremor parts

I agree with your argument and logic for anyone who has failure now or in the future

Agree, I think he is in his rights to ask for a base part cost refund, not labor or upgraded parts, since he did that on his own. I can also see, technically, where the dealer or Ford would deny it, since it was DIY. I'm sure the refund clause was written in regards to repairs done at a dealer, with documentation, prior to the bulletin issue.

I still recommend he speak to the GM/owner, since he bought the truck there, & the parts. It would be in their best interest to work with him, and retain a customer. Most lower level employees don't care about customer retention.
Yes, it would definitely be in their best interest. I have 4 kids and the Maverick really is the ideal vehicle for someone going off to college and moving out of the house. I was so excited when I found out they are finally making an AWD hybrid which was going to be my next purchase for the next child before he goes to college.

I also have a 2020 Ranger FX4 Lariat which is my fun pickup to keep miles off the super duty diesel and I was considering trading it for the ranger raptor. This whole situation has me considering the competition now.

I have a 2023 Lariat and bought an extended warranty from Ford (80K 5 year). Truck has 30k and no issues but are the driveshafts covered on an extended warranty

Depends on the warranty. But they likely are.

The powertrain warranty also covers them for 5 years/60k.

As far as we know only the axles for the hybrid have been redesigned. We have yet to see any evidence that the axles for the non-Tremor EB have changed since 2022.

Still under warranty though
That is a horse of a different color - the warranty work is specific, it must be conducted by Ford or one of their agents (dealers).

Recalls are different. if you are outside the warranty period and you have the vehicle fixed elsewhere and then the recall comes out, the refund will apply. Bottom line here is he needs to contact Ford directly.

Seriously? Because they won't refund you money on parts that are not specified for your truck? You rolled the dice on a upgrade based on what you have read on line to correct your issue instead of having Ford repair the vehicle to OE specs (which is their obligation) and now you want to throw the entire company out for it? Good luck down at Toyota....I am sure they'll give you top dollar for your trade in..

I was excited when I received the letter for Customer Satisfaction Program 25N09 hoping to get a refund. I was excited to see them acknowledge there is a problem with the original CV axles and try to make it right.

Mine went out right when my daughter needed to take it to college so I didn't have time for the dealer to fix it and since I was doing it myself I didn't want to install the same TRASH axles and have to fix it again in 15-20k miles so I installed Tremor CV axles.

The Tremor CV axles are way better! Smooth as silk now and I think they will last much longer.

When I went to get a refund they are refusing to issue any refund because I choose to use the more expensive and better parts.

So I said fine, just refund me the price of standard crappy CV axles but they said they can't. "The part number on the receipt doesn't match the covered part on CSP 25N09"

I'm so frustrated! They know it had defective axles. I bought genuine Ford parts from the same dealer I bought the truck, and they say they can't do anything because I bought the higher quality part!

What can I do? Is there anyone at Ford I can contact or email? Does anyone have an email address for someone at Ford? This feels totally unfair!
Contact Ford directly. I believe they offer reimbursement even if it was done at an independent shop. I need to read the information in detail in order to be certain though

For me, it's about doing the right thing, and not just for me. I know there are MANY more owners in my situation. There are many threads and YouTube tutorials on installing Tremor CV axles in an EB Maverick. Have any of them had success with getting reimbursed?

Ford installed faulty parts. Ford also made a better part. Anyone who who has to fix their truck because of faulty parts and choose the better FORD part should not be excluded.
If it was aftermarket parts then there would be room for debate.

I would be happy with being reimbursed for the cost of standard parts. I'm not asking for reimbursement for upgrades, or even for labor. Just ANYTHING from Ford to make it right for me and all the other owners who choose the better parts to fix their trucks

I have a 2023 Lariat AWD 2.0 and started having vibrations when accelerating. Called Ford and they came and took the truck and verified the issue and told me both front axles were going to be replaced. They said they vibrated on the lift during their testing (not really sure how you do that properly with wheels suspended). They replaced both and brought the truck back to my house. Steering seems stiffer but it will probably loosen up. No charges...truck has 34K so covered under factory warranty. They said there were no TSBs ore recalls to claim it under. Also said rear brakes needed replacement - $700 for pads and rotors....off course I passed and ordered F and R pads for $60 total from RA. Rotors are fine on my truck. Glad I bought the extended warranty since I'll probably need it once the factory warranty is up.

If the CV joints are bad enough (especially the inner) , a skilled mechanic can often detect a faulty CV joint on a lift with the wheels suspended, in fact, it's often easier because the joints will sometimes vibrate worse when they are at an angle. As for your extended warranty, it's good for peace of mind JUST IN CASE. But the odds are that you'll NEVER need enough repairs to exceed what you paid for it, it's basically insurance. And they've determined that the vast majority of people won't need to use it or will only use it for minor repairs that nowhere near cost what they charged. That's how they make money, But if you're part of that small group that actually uses it for a major repair, you'll be glad you got it. If not THEY'LL be glad you got it 😅

You know you caused the problem by replacing the original part, with a different part number which is not mentioned in the recall. The dealer will not be covered by Ford for the cost of the part, and labor to cover your upgrade. You may have better axels on your truck now then the recall would have given you.

I owned an Escape before this....one of my cheaper run arounds just like the Maverick is. The Escape had driveshaft issues which appeared to cause a slight but permanent tranny vibration at certain speeds...not to mention that their PTUs were prone to failure at low mileage from exhaust heat. The Maverick uses a lot of the same components that the Escape used. Even though Ford implied they redesigned and fixed all the issues I have doubts to that claim after looking over both vehicles from underneath. I don't see many improvements. The fact that the Mav driveshafts already went out at 32K leads me to believe this Maverick will have a serious drive train issue before my ext warranty runs out. I already changed all the fluids as a precaution to try and prevent a repeat of the Escape fiasco...which I dumped on CarMax.
