Do not go to those quick oil change places. They put on the cheapest and worst or filters possible which could really do damage to your engine in the long run. check out the videos on oil filters on YouTube.

Naw. Not my first rodeo. I’ll stick with the onboard oil life indicator. Once a year is frequently enough as I’ll never drive over about 5,500 miles a year. You need to be changing oil a minimum of every 6 months.
Should be free with Ford Pass points! My ‘24 lariat hybrid is now 1 year old, with 5,800 total miles.
so sorry I missed the dealer oil specials two weeks ago, advertised $68, not sure what all was included.
Today, a 5K service (which don’t exist for this vehicle), $200.
Included tire rotation.
Service writer didn’t know anything about deep sleep, ‘just need to drive more’.
Wanted a dealer service for 1st oil change. Will be shopping next year!

My dealership in Louisburg, KS offers a mobile service that comes to my house for no extra charge. I just had them change the oil & filter, rotate the tires, and install a pending factory recall all in one visit....$91.00 total. I could watch them work on the truck (2 guys). I have no complaints. My ‘24 lariat hybrid is now 1 year old, with 5,800 total miles.

Last time I took my truck to a dealer was over 15 years ago, after I later found out my oil pan hex head plug was rounded and the filter was put on so tight, I had to destroy it getting it off, I said never again, the only reason I will take my new 2024 Lariat Maverick to a dealer is if I have a recall, warranty work or the 10K mile service. I do my own oil changes on everything I own. That way I know it's done right. I use top quality full synthetic oil and ford filters. I don't go buy the computer telling me when I need an oil change, I go by the way I drive, normally every 5K or 6 months. I've only got 2500 miles on it and already did 2 oil changes. One to get the minimum oil ford recommends out and the second was to make sure I got it all out. I can do my changes for less than 50 bucks. It's really easy and fun doing. My ‘24 lariat hybrid is now 1 year old, with 5,800 total miles.

What oil and oil filter do you use? ThanksLast time I took my truck to a dealer was over 15 years ago, after I later found out my oil pan hex head plug was rounded and the filter was put on so tight, I had to destroy it getting it off, I said never again, the only reason I will take my new 2024 Lariat Maverick to a dealer is if I have a recall, warranty work or the 10K mile service. Only have to keep your receipts per Ford CorporateThe terms are in the warranty. They can't null it for not using a dealer but they can null it if you can't prove all maintenance schedules have been followed. I will use my NAPA service center I have used for 15 years because they put it in the vehicle history system. I can't do that in my driveway.
Great advice, with my experience with Stealer's, the first thing I did after retiring and moving to Tennessee was look for a qualified local mechanic if needed. Keep in mind the Stealer's are out to drain your pocketbook. And their oil change guy is not a high paid tech!Suggestions for those who are not able/interested in doing their own maintenance:
If you have the knowledge/tools, but not the physical ability, find a local teen who is interested in cars, and teach him/her, and pay them.
If you just don't want to deal with it at all, support your local independent owned shops, that have high customer satisfaction. Or, if your local dealer is fair & highly rated, fine, there are some out there.
But quit getting ripped off and supporting garbage dealers!![]()
If you have engine trouble, a qualified Technician can tell if your oil has been changed regularly. So a receipt for oil purchased at Walmart is enough? Or receipts for service done? I keep the receipts for service. Just wonder how you prove you changed oil yourself.
I used my Ford Pass points at my local Stealer, 31K points came to around 150 dollars, I got 2 air filters, 2 cabin filters, 2 oil filters, unless I have warranty work, I won't be going back!Yea use to. , but wanted to use fordpass points up and oil changes worked for me . although second oil change dealership lost one bolt from skid plate on my fx4 . had bolt at home that I use until dealer replaces bolt . still waiting for replacement . maybe next and last oil change at dealer . fordpass points will be gone and so will fordpass app .

If your vehicle is under factory warranty, they will do whatever it takes to find the problem to either deny the claim or fix it at no cost to you. If they see the engine oil hasn't been changed or has been abused, they will either refuse it or fix it, I've already experienced this with my wife's son's car.But that isn't going to help your argument with Ford. They will say you didn't follow the recommendations. So you PAY to have someone tear it down and prove to Ford that you did the oil changes?
