Well, my 2023 Mav Hybrid is dead. What started out as a parking brake failure has now turned into a dead vehicle. Yeah, I know…. You can’t jump it off… yeah well it is dead when I get back in it. So it’s terribly unreliable.

Local Ford dealers are so backed up they can’t get to it for weeks. So, basically, I have an expensive paperweight sitting in my yard that I can’t use.

So sad that Ford has such a poor service setup, and also sad that Ford couldn’t get this hybrid system right even though they have done a decent job with the Fusion Hybrid in the past.

I have a 2025 Maverick on order, but seeing how this is playing out, this will be my last Ford ever.

This sounds like the typical bad battery (see the threads, many are having this issue). If I were you, I would replace your 12 battery with an AGM battery. Search the threads for some suggestions.

Good luck!

Replace the battery on a brand new vehicle… more money out of my pocket……….. yeah.

So, you’re saying the battery change would solve the parking brake issue as well?

Hi there! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having– If you'd like to, go ahead and send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage. I can look into this for you. Thanks!

Thanks. I’ve already reached out to you guys on here and got a response. Not much help at the moment.

There is a recall/TSB/fix coming for some people who have 12v battery issues with their Hybrids. Fix should be available Q1 of 2025. Search the thread titles for recent mention of it.

FWIW, not everyone with a Hybrid is having battery issues. So far (19k miles / 1+ year ownership), I have had none.

When I talk to the service reps, they say they can’t do anything for 2-3 weeks.

it’s not about a jump-off, I can do that… it’s about a fix, which they can’t even asses the vehicle for 2-3 weeks.

Bro, we're gonna jinx ourselves. No issues here either. But I'm probably gonna swap in a AGM battery just to be safe in the somewhat near future. We'll see if the original battery can make it through this third winter.

call them for the jump each and every time. when it has cost Ford enough they will get your dealer in gear.

You can do jump-off but the third or 4th time they come out and do it you may get bumped up the can-do-que?
ETA: Also the remote tech may be able to do at least the diagnosing in your driveway since he is probably waiting for a service appointment. I have never had to wait for more than three days to get to me. One time he was about 50 minutes into the 2 hour show up window. He apologized because he said he had to replace a battery in a shopping center because the vehicle would not start on way to me.

it’s not a brand new vehicle though.

I’m sorry you’re having troubles but we’re much more sympathetic to those that voice their issues but welcome known solutions in place.

I’d probably sell it and cancel your 2025 order and get yourself something reliable like a Honda civic, which never face any issues or recalls….

You’re cute.

You’re right, though… I prob should sell it. I have enjoyed it even though it rattles worse than a pack of Tic Tacs, but having to carry a jump box around for a ticking time bomb is seriously funny.

A year-old vehicle that has had these issues: parking break, dead batteries, multiple recalls, rattles ford can’t find, and a service center that’s always extended beyond acceptable time frames is a mess.

There are known fixes for the dash rattle and battery (plus a fix is coming from Ford).

I wish you well for whatever vehicle you decide to purchase.

@DrumReaper If you are disenfranchised with @Ford Motor Company then definitely don't engage with the bot. It will only infuriate you.
