The truck has been sitting for 3 days Since I didn’t need to go anywhere. Now it is dead and for the life of me I can not find the jump points outlined in the manual. It is 2023 XLT. can someone help an old man out with a picture. I would appreciate it

Dead? Sat for three days and ... dead? Sounds like something is wrong. Don't think that's normal.

Good morning. We would like to look into this concern regarding your Maverick being dead on our end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info to get started.

There is a lot of history in prior posts here on the starting issues. The vast majority, in my experience, are related to the Motorcraft batteries that Ford has been using (I'm talking the under the back seat battery that is needed for starting). We had very similar issues as we cycled through three different Motorcraft batteries that the dealership kept replacing in our 2022 Maverick, and finally said enough is enough. Bought a third party battery last year and it has been fine since. Our latest experience is coming home this past Sunday after being away from home and the Maverick for four months, and the Mav started right up when I check on her. I believe Ford is still going through a large delivery of poor batteries from their manufacturer and do not want anything to do with them.

Lastly, get a portable jump starter. They are a Godsend to have in any vehicle, and are particularly important for women. No wants their wife/daughter/significant other stranded and waiting for a jumpstart from a stranger, or sitting there for hours waiting for AAA.
