I live in Mississippi and it has been and will be hot all summer, over 90 every day. I noticed that my XL dash is getting sticky/tacky to the touch, specifically the humped spot right behind the steering wheel. The plastic feels really thin and malleable too. Has anyone else noticed this?

I live in Arizona, in the Sonoran Desert... I have a dash pad for the dashboard... However, I noticed that the Bin on top of the dashboard (above and behind the Infotainment screen) is getting very tacky sticky inside. Odd.

Probably time to invest in a windshield screen when I can't park in covered areas.

Do you use any cleaning products on it?

Yes but not since I bought a windshield screen. We had had 2 weeks of 90+ now another two of 100+. The screen has made a huge difference for me.

My entire dash gets sticky when the windows have been left up as the truck sits in the heat. I first noticed it yesterday and no, I haven't used armor all or anything other product on it. It's not pleasing.

I bought one of those smelly-good tins, about the size of a tuna can that sit in a cup holder and give off scent. While it was working the windshield would fog up when it sat outside and got hot. Took Windex and a microfiber to get it off.

Once the scent stuff died out the fog stopped. Could be something like that, we’ve had record numbers of days over 100* this summer and I haven’t noticed any material issues on the dash

I noticed the plastic of the dash cubby behind the infotainment system gets sticky in the heat (we have that in the Sonoran desert)... I have a dash cover for the whole dash, but of course it's open to that cubby so that it can be used. Even the back of the plastic bezel around the infotainment screen gets sticky (as it faces the windshield).

will be interesting too see how all of these recycled plastics in the Maverick hold up over time.

That will be interesting to see.🧐
First vehicle I have ever considered carpeting the dash.

A few years ago one of my Remington rifles (700cdl) had a butt pad that was always sticky. Goo gone wouldn't fix the issue. Nothing would fix it. Low and behold, Remington decided to send people a new pad.

Most vehicles with plastic dashes have this problem. I always get a dash cover (rug) to stop the glare, and keep the dash from getting hot so it won't crack, or buckle from the heat. For 20 or so bucks it's well worth it. P.S. also stops scrathes!
