Had my 2025 XLT Hybrid in for its first oil change and asked them to investigate a rattle that developed over the past few weeks around the instrument cluster. It took them several hours and several test drives to locate the problem which was fixed under warranty. Hopefully this helps someone else.

C/S THERE IS A RATTLE ON THE DASH NEAR THE HUMP ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, WHEN PRESSING DOWN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IT GOES AWAY

Nice that they spent the time to find the issue.
You may have found a good tech that cares about fixing the issues that crop up.
Hopefully Ford will pay him the 2.1hrs he took to fix it.

THANK YOU for taking the time to post back. This helps others with similar problems who don't have good dealer support.

I get that same rattle after a few hours on the highway.
Pressing down on the top of the dash above instrument cluster makes it go away; until I stop pressing.
I don't want to leave my truck at a disservice center for two weeks for them to "get around to it" and eliminate the rattle, so I'll look into correcting it myself.

Share the text my tech took time to record (required to get warranty payment I know) with your service advisor. It's copied and pasted straight from the service invoice.

It got all the details including part numbers a tech needs to avoid hours of diagnosis and the days of avoidance. This could be a 30 minute job with this knowledge in hand.

I have the same issue. Pressing on the top above the gauge cluster fixes it until I take my hand off.. I expect a lot of 25 owners have the same issue.

The fix for this rattle is to cram a piece of window screen spline into the gap between the instrument cluster cover and the main dash panel. Takes 3 min. I used the smallest diameter spline from my local HD.

this is a fine 3 year, 1 day 36,001 mile solution, before that point I prefer to have the manufacturer make it right

yes, but...in my 50 years of dealership experience, this will require you leave your vehicle with them for 2-20 days. If they provide a loaner free of charge, no problem.

Anecdote: The battery on my new Transit(not Connect) went bad after a few months (would not have enough power to start the van if left overnight). I took it to a local dealership for warranty replacement, they tested things and did not find a battery drain. They wanted me to leave it with them for a few days until they could put in a new one, they would not just give me one to install myself. And did not provide a loaner. But they did offer to have a driver take me home. I went across the street from the disservice center and bought a new for $100 one at Walmart and installed it myself in 15 minutes. That battery was good for another 6 years.

Moral of the story: some things are worth leaving at a disservice center to be repaired under warranty, some things are better done yourself; depending on cost and time available. The dash rattle sounds like an ez fix, and I'd rather try it myself than leave it at a disservice center for days/weeks.

Never mind ... Google ... my apologies, looks like a great solution except I'm getting stick from my wife for buying 25ft at $6 and only using 12 inches before throwing the rest away ...
