Never mind ... Google ... my apologies, looks like a great solution except I'm getting stick from my wife for buying 25ft at $6 and only using 12 inches before throwing the rest away ...
Sell the remaining spline, market it as 'revolutionary dash rattle repair". You will make a mint!!!:clap:

this is a fine 3 year, 1 day 36,001 mile solution, before that point I prefer to have the manufacturer make it right
Typically, I’d agree with you, but in this case a fifteen minute drive to Home Depot and back and 5 minutes inside the cab and the issue is resolved. Going to the dealer and having my dash taken apart and reassembled seemed like more effort for me with possibly inferior results (new rattles).

So, yeah, on paper, I concur, but techs usually aren’t super picky at spending lots of time and attention to detail tracking down stuff like this, considering warranty reimbursement rates and how much bandwidth they have in a busy shop environment.

There was a recall on 2025 for seatbelt warning light that required a “stop sale” until dealer fixed it. Required partial removal of dash.

My truck was “fixed” before I took delivery, so I’m not sure if the recall disassembly/reassembly caused my dash creak. I suspect it did

Even though I believe inexpensive vehicles should be EXTRA reliable (ie Corolla) - I’ll find the correct shim material & thickness to fix at a minimum cost.

Cardboard and plastic shims haven’t fixed yet - but I’ll find the correct one eventually. A properly folded & measured paper towel is next on my list. Worked on a previous vehicle;)

Had my 2025 XLT Hybrid in for its first oil change and asked them to investigate a rattle that developed over the past few weeks around the instrument cluster. It took them several hours and several test drives to locate the problem which was fixed under warranty. Hopefully this helps someone else.

C/S THERE IS A RATTLE ON THE DASH NEAR THE HUMP ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, WHEN PRESSING DOWN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IT GOES AWAY

REQUESTING ACTUAL TIME FOR THE REPAIR 2.1

TEST DROVE VEHICLE FOUND RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM NEAR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, REMOVED PANEL AROUND CLUSTER BASE NUMBER 26044D70, WITH PANEL REMOVED NO NOISE HEARD, USING SQUEAK AND RATTLE KIT FOAM TAPE STARTED TAPING CONTACT POINTS ON PANEL AND REINSTALLING AND DRIVING, AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS FOUND WHEN FOAM TAPE WAS ADDED TO THE EDGE BETWEEN IPC MASK AND SHROUD PANEL 260DD470 NOISE WAS NO LONGER PRESENT, TEST DROVE A TOTAL OF 16 MILES TO ISOLATE LOCATION OF NOISE,

ALL OKAY
Is your buzz vibration the same as in my attached video? My mechanic said he couldn’t hear it and he’s a young guy with good hearing LoL

I don't want to have to use paper towels... I needed to do that with my 07 mustang gt... Can't Ford stop these stupid rattles... I had a 2007 kia Sorento before my Mavericks and it never had a rattle...

Luckily my paper towel creak
fix was stuffed out of sight in the rear hatch door plastic. For my Maverick dash I might need some Bounty dyed black!

I agree My 2023 BS BB had bad rattles in the dash. Now today I noticed My 2025 Maverick has a rattle on what sounds like the passenger side dash area. Not as bad as the BS BB but very annoying for less than 4,000 miles on it.

The fix for this rattle is to cram a piece of window screen spline into the gap between the instrument cluster cover and the main dash panel. Takes 3 min. I used the smallest diameter spline from my local HD.
Thank you for this fix. I haven’t experienced any rattles at this point, but I have saved your text in the event it shows up. 👍

This sounds like the same rattle in my 2025 Tremor. It was extremely annoying. The fix was a small shim placed between the panels as shown in the picture. Rattle now gone. I suspect the parts weren't fully mated during assembly.

Ya i get fixin it myself, but i have been doing that for 44 years on 40 different used vehicles i’ve owned. Something like this repair is easy and Ford should have a TSB for those that want it. I see they sold a hundred and fourty? thousand Mavericks this year, so getting this fix into the assembly line the sooner the better. The next one i buy should be dang near perfect by then :)
