I'd like a "Dash Cam" monitor in the cubby, but with a very small actual camera stuck on behind the rear view mirror. (facing forward ) Or elsewhere -- maybe looking back and down at the truck bed to monitor a load.

I see cameras the size of dice. Having a camera/display combo obscuring the windshield seems unnecessary. The challenge would be running power and signal cables.

I just cant be wired in to use nav. Just not practical for me. Plus the typing mess up the screen. See i have children and while they do have their own phone lots of times on trips i make sure their phones stay home so they are not glued to it the whole time. My phone will then be used throughout the cab to select music/ messages/web surf, which just doesnt work with Andriod Auto without messing with nav.. Unless things have change since last time i used it a few years back.
I currently drive a 17 Hyundai Ionic 52mpg will be missed, but I look forward to the driving a truck! My apple car play allows me to listed to music, or podcasts and it will navigate and I can still take a call or even voice text all while driving.. it truly is a do it all system, Ford was smart not putting a powerful Sync system in a affordable truck.

Some good, and funny, ideas on here. That cubby was the first thing I zoned in on when I recently test drove a 2.0 while waiting (forever) for a hybrid to test out.

I thought the cubby was a bit of an odd size and depth, but the first thing I thought of was being able to fit a small cell phone holder (with a mag mount or something) in the cubby so the phone could be kept viewable.

I have these Qi charger mag mounts for my older vehicles that still have CD/Nav slots:

I use the supplied magnets attached to my phone cases to hold the phones magnetically to the holder and they work great. Figure someone needs to 3D print something like this to squeeze/fit into those cubbies. Best of all the phones are still charging when the screens are on during navigation.

Both of those mounts are good idea, the first one is going to stick way out!! The second might be more manageable, but I didn't see any measurements on the website. I've included a few pictures I took when I had the chance to see a training Maverick at my local dealership so you have a better idea of what the cubby measurements are

. I'm thinking fabrication might be the way to go or take one of these mounts to re-work to fit better in the cubby.
Yeah think for a truly nice looking fit it will likely need at least a little bit of customization. Thank you for the measurements. I do much better when I have something in front of me in person than I do from measurements or pictures so I'm going to wait until I get a Maverick before I really start coming up with ideas.
