Ford please help!!!
So this started about a month a ago when i noticed grease oozing out of the passenger side inner CV joint. Looks like it is coming from where the boot is mounted to the shaft. I noticed it on my tire rotation that i do every 10k. So i made an appointment to have it looked at at my local dealer in which they where a month out which was no big deal. In the process of time before the Maverick went in for service I started to notice a shudder in the front end under hard acceleration. This shudder progressively has gotten worse and after the service appointment my dealership did confirm the shudder and the failing CV shaft. The kicker is the CV shaft is on back order so now i am driving my Hybrid which feels like the front is about to fly apart every time i accelerate on the highway with no resolve in sight! Ford if your listening, Mike White Ford of CdA, Idaho needs a pass side CV half shaft like yesterday for my Hybrid! Ok rant over thank you

I'm not surprised about the part being on backorder, but the dealer let you just drive away after confirming/diagnosing a failing half shaft?

I can't wait to see where this one goes 🍿 (BTW, I would not be driving on a failing half shaft. Park the truck and demand a loaner.)

Well since the boot is not cracked or broken and since the CV is not making any noise they said it was ok to drive even with the vibration. But if it fails completely they are the 1st ones on my call list!

Hey there! Can you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would be happy to look into the shudder/CV concerns you have with your Maverick.

NZ6Z3B436C shows 14 in transit to Ford (eta 9/15), with 6 on backorder. I would guess your CV axle should arrive in about 3 weeks.

Did you get it fixed? I went to my local dealer in Buena Park for a recall issue (not suspension-related) and drove off the lot with my truck vibrating/wobbling at 45mph. They said it was a coincidence this happened. They want to replace both half shafts. This is a back-ordered item so they said it could take 3+ weeks. Other dealerships out of state have it in stock but they said the other dealerships wouldn't sell them as they are saving them for possible issues when their customers.

Ford Buena Park said my truck is safe to drive. They want me to return the Enterprise rental truck they gave me and use mine until the parts come in.

Can you do that again? Just learned I'll be needing a CV axle, which is on backorder, and my dealership in West Chester, told me it would be fine to drive until replacement comes in. But I swear pulling away it felt a little worse than before I dropped it off.

I trust this dealership so far, they seem like good & mostly honest people.

But I'm real curious to know how long it will take.
