Custom bed rails installed (DIY with parts from Home Depot)

Added some cargo tie down rails. Used the idea from online.

Used a section of SuperStrut from Home Depot. I cut mine @32” per side. Used only 2 OEM fasteners per rail. Felt very solid. My box had the OEM holes/threads already. For finish look I added the Black end caps, and painted Blue rails to match my accents.

Added TacMolle Fire Extinguisher and Mount and Quick release rubber clamps.

Cost for just SuperStrut, Fasteners,washers,end caps, maybe $75.00 ish? Plus I have an about 56” left of SStrut.

Yes sir. There are 2 different depths. I went with the shallower one, if that makes sense?

Thank you. Billie Bars made the tailgate protector. They have all different colors. I should have went Black instead of the darker Gray… but it’s so nice on the knees, getting in and out.

I am nervous for your shiny black painted bed. The first day I got my velocity blue XL I was looking in the bed over the side, had my keys my hand ,they dropped and put a nick in the paint. So upset that I installed the modular bed liner.

Tip / Option

If you get the full size (taller) unistrut at Home Depot and mount it holes up/ track down you will get ~20 tie down holes per side with nothing else to buy, nothing to ever lose.

Super cheap. Super functional.
Each of the 20 holes per side will take a tie down / ratchet strap hook.

Always in the right place.
Nothing to adjust.
