Installed my DIY bed side rails today.

Using information from Barracuda340 , I finally got my rails installed. Using undrilled L-track from https://www.cargoequipmentcorp.com , tie downs from Amazon, and flat head 6mm and 8mm bolts from my local hardware store, I cut the tracks to length and drilled and countersunk the holes for the bolts. It is handy to have a machine shop. Approximately $95 in materials and I feel it looks sleeker than the U channel method.

Can we get a pic of the rail without the anchors? Did the screw heads line up ok in teh channel?

awesome, I was about to do that as well until FOMOCO offered their rail along with spray-in for the same price as the SIBL.

Can we get a pic of the rail without the anchors? Did the screw heads line up ok in teh channel?

There is a bunch of ice on my tonneau cover right now, so I cant really roll it up. The rails didn't come with any holes, I had to put the holes for the 4 screws per rail myself. I used flat head bolts and also countersunk the holes so they would be flush.

I think I may go with a way less expensive option using four fold down V or D tie down anchors using the existing threaded mounting points. I don’t need movable anchor points and really don’t like how the DIY or Ford option protrude into the bed. Ford uses D tie downs in the front floor of the bed. These could be used for the DIY rails rather than eye bolts too.

That's what I had before the rails. It should be fine for light duty loads

The last two for me I had to shift a bit but not noticeable because those are the M6
