It's funny, I didn't realize that the XL came without it when I ordered it.

It's funny how you don't miss something until it's not there.

Sifted a little through the larger post on the subject and noticed that there are after market options, has anyone on here added it?

Something I would definitely be interested in adding.

Almost 1700 miles, and am loving the truck.

The kits are just becoming available. I don't know of anyone who has ordered it yet.

I will be one of the first installing it on the hybrid. I knew that it was missing from the XL, but wasn't wanting to spend the big bux to upgrade to the XLT for it, as it was the only additional feature the XLT offered that I wanted.

Just be sure about the quality of the aftermarket you get for cruise control..
I don't know, in an older vehicle i see the value of adding such option but is it even possible to safely install one in a new generation vehicle like the maverick? in all the maverick there is for example as standard feature a Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. I see that as a lot of sensors and electronic well calibrated.
The idea of impacting that area in a vehicle is not my cup of tea.

I guess that would be why there aren't any reviews yet. Really interested in it though. Dunno how I feel about being a guinea pig, will give it a bit before I order it.

Interesting that it costs more than the parts to enable CC via the factory-provided "user-mod" capability described several other places in the forum. And judging by all the "stuff" that comes with it, it's gotta be a lot more difficult to install.

I'm also more than a little bit concerned by the review Roger McCoy posted... He indicated that the CC "fights" against the brakes for a little while when you first apply them. Seems like their programming is a bit off on detecting brake application. In a hybrid, would this impact regenerative braking?

In any case, I'd take a "hard pass" on that particular implementation. The only thing worse than no cruise control is one that is poorly executed. I know this from personal experience... I had an aftermarket cruise control on a car that suffered from the same "lag" shutting off the cruise control when I applied the brakes. I took it off the car, because I felt it was too dangerous. And oddly enough, this was on my last Ford Maverick - a blue 1972 2-door 4-cylinder.

Totally agree about it being dangerous if poorly implemented. It can also screw up other things. I have an old explorer that the previous owner installed an aftermarket remote start system. Doing that disabled the cruise control. I will literally never use the remote start but would use CC, however it's not worth what it would cost to remove the remote start system.

I ultimately, changed the control switches and programming. Works great. I would not go aftermarket. I know it sounds very daunting, but it's no big deal. I left the steering wheel on and gently pulled on the trim by hand. Remember to disconnect negative battery first. Handling of airbag kinda scared me but was super easy.

Good luck wherever, you end up doing!

I am surprised you can get a new vehicle these days without at least basic cc. I remember when a/c was an option. Maybe it still is on some bare bones cars.
