Cruise control add-on

Morning, all. Our local Ford dealership, Cooper Ford of Carthage, NC, who I have purchased my hybrid model through, has scheduled to get us a hybrid model next week for validation on that powertrain. I hope to be back shortly with good news about the availability of add-on cruise control for those, too.

Since we know there's at least one(1) aftermarket kit available now, and a member (for FB Group member) who swapped wheels with an escape and used Forscan to activate the buttons, it's very possible.

Cruise, and heated seats/mirrors, were the primary reason I went up the trim levels, although, could potentially still make changes to my hybrid order.

On the return trip from our offices to the dealership after the cruise control was installed we got 46 MPG!

They are. Likewise, we offer standalone hard-wired speed limiters for the Maverick to set a maximum top speed - important to fleet owners.

Is there any way that we could get the Rostra to work with the steering wheel switch that can be ordered from Ford? I understand that Ford part number LB5Z-9C888-H can be purchased to replace the XL left hand steering wheel switch and still keep the original functionality. It would be nice not to have to add a third stalk to the column.

Yes, a Ford made switch would be nice. Though I read in a post somewhere that LB5Z-9C888-G was a compatible part, which doesn't support adaptive cruise control.

I have not. However, I do plan on purchasing the appropriate switches, a ForScan license, and an OBDII connector and enable cruise on my XL. That is when my budget recovers from just having to purchase a new computer.

Another user confirmed these part numbers for replacement switches.

I just received a very quick reply from "Rostra" concerning adding Cruise Control on the Maverick XL, The following is the reply;

" We should have a cruise control system available for the 100A/XL equipment package Mavericks shortly after Ford begins delivery to customers."

Hi Bill, does the CC kit work on both XL Ecoboost and the XL Hybrid, my local installer
didn't seem too sure, she said "i believe it will work on the Hybrid, i don't see and
alerts on them mentioning Eco only". Any special proceedure for the Hybrid she has to do? Thanks......Larry
