Had about a 5" crease appear a few inches below the door handle on the drivers side rear door. No paint scuff or other sign of damage. Took truck to a guy that does paintless dent removal. He told me he has seen this before and it was caused because the door skin expanded but where it was glued to the brace inside the door did not. He removed some of the glue in that spot and worked the crease out. He was careful to only remove the glue where the crease was so it would not create a rattle. Looks like it was never there now.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Too late for a picture? Not heard of this before.

Good day

It's sounds like @cmehas already had the repair carried out.

After the fact they have posted this discovery (I know I haven't heard of it before) for everyone's edification.

I also appreciate the post, as the problem has been posted about, and also the reason for the crease appearing in the first place.

Now the information is available for anyone who does a search, etc.

Cheers,

Andy

Good day to you as well.

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of now that we do know the cause of the problem trying to convince Ford and the dealership this is sort of a design flaw and should be covered under the 3/36.

On the bright side, this doesn't seem to be a widespread problem so it is possible that maybe the glue was not applied according to specs on OP's truck. I dunno.

Cheers.

That's the last place I'd go to for something like that.
Want to be careful for sure.

I found it interesting that the dealer I got my Maverick from uses the same dent doctor I've used in the past. He comes twice a month to the dealership and if I meet him there I save on the travel fee as he is located 40 miles from me.

I don't think the dealer is too keen on me hanging out in the parking lot waiting to be honest. ;)

That probably means he's not getting a cut of any profit earned by the PDR guy. He should be OK with it as your a customer and most likely why it's allowed to happen.

Yes, on my 23 hybrid 2 doors have a wave in them. When the light hits them and your looking at an angle you can see a wave.

Agree. It was actually the Dent Doctor's idea for me to meet him at the dealership to save me money. He's a busy guy and was looking to save road time for me for more profitable time spend elsewhere i would guess.
