I only have 4k miles and I've already taken 3 rocks to the windshield. 2 minor 1 major crack. Is the Maverick the perfect height for taking rocks to the face?

Mine had a rock crack it 12 days after I bought it. I put on an Aeroskin 2 deflector to help prevent it again. So far, so good 4,300 miles later.
I drove my Sport Trac 15 years with one, and never had a rock hit it. These are discontinued so they're hard to find. Most of the other ones don't deflect wind like this one so probably are useless for rocks and bugs.

Had my windshield replaced by Safelite for the $100 insurance deductible.

Thanks that looks pretty cool.
Check your local Ford dealers. Mine happened to have two in stock a few months ago. I couldn't find one online.

The new one ends in A. Doesn't have the lip. Don't want that one.

Can't speak of the Maverick (don't have mine yet) but I drive a 2011 Fiesta on my 4th windshield. I asked Safelite Tech if he knew why. His response was that he noticed that Ford uses thinner windshields. Whether it's truth of B.S. I'll likely never know...

Like a paint chip a windshield crack/break is a matter of many factors coming together to a negative outcome.

I’m part of the cracked windshield club.

never had a cracked windshield before in all my driving. I drove a 2001 f150 for almost 15 years and it still had the factory glass when I sold it last year. It took a beating too, not even a chip.

Got my first rock chip in my windshield not more than 48 hours after I picked up my truck. Safelight is coming tomorrow to fix it, free of charge due to my insurance.

Our Mav replaced my wife's 1999 Ford Windstar. I always expected that huge Windstar windshield to get cracked but it never did! Mav windshield got cracked near it's one year anniversary, sheesh!! Safelite did a good job/insurance covered it.

. You might be rite on the perfect height , This was a Bolt or something that came off a Merging Semi , Lazy driver had a lot of debris on his deck and I said this isn’t gonna end well bam 💥 it didn’t. Over 6” so $500 deductible to get the Baby Ford back on the Road .

A friend of mine has been in the glass business for years. He has said newer windshields are thinner. Probably for weight savings. He has said older windshields could withstand a hit better. You might get a chip or a bullseye but now they crack easier.
