My last vehicle had LED lights in the lower front doors to light up the ground of the entrance, and to alert on-coming cars that the door was open.

I see that my 2024 XLT Hybrid has a reflector in that similar location, but has anyone added LED lights to this area to make the entrance lighter, and so that cars can see the open door at night?

It was just such a great feature that saved me a few times in dark parking lots where I was paralleled parked and getting into my car at night.

Thanks in advance. You all are great!

It's actually not a reflector, it's just a translucent red screw cover. It has no reflective properties.

There's discussion of what you're asking about here (more about reflectors than LEDs): https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/door-reflectors.83678/#post-1384105

If you don't want to read through the thread. Here's the gist of it.

The red lens has no reflective properties and is there to cover up access to a screw.

Red reflective tape added on top of red lens.

I bought reflective tape at Lowe's.

I would have preferred the yellow or white tape but decided to stay with the theme of red.

It does make a big difference VS just the red lens.

Reflective tape added ☝🏻over the red lens.👍

The reflection on the left, is actually the reflective tape, reflecting off of the paint of the truck.

Y
ou could certainly put lights in that area of the door.
Running power wires into the door, or tapping into wiring in the door.
Doable but to what end. Do the occurrences justify the work and cost?
