I feel like it's usually 10 to 15 cents around here. Never enough to go out of my way (closest is like 10 miles away) filing up the 12 gallon tank of my old Corolla (pretty much the same with my new mav). Will usually fill if I had less than half a tank when I was already there.
I normally stop at Costco when I am near there to save about 15 cents per gallon. However I had a friend who filled up there a couple years ago. The tanker guy unfortunately filled up one of the station tanks with Leaded gas! It took my friend a long time to recoup $1,500 dollar repair from the insurance from Costco. This I am sure was an isolated incidence.

Bj,s wholesale club is a wider spread than Costco in Jacksonville Florida , especially if you want to use premium . It depends on how much you drive .Membership is $55 a year . Take their Mastercard .10 more a gallon . Also they have Octane booster rewards .Another words if you shop the store buy an item that has the octane booster logo get an additional .10 a gallon and the items Stack ,you must buy the gas the same day you shop . Essentially my experience on Avg is I can buy regular for .30 cents a gallon cheaper at least than the best price on the street ( for my mazda cx5) .If your buying premium (my wifes SRX Cadillac it does not like regular) you can buy premium for apx the same cost as regular on the street which translates to .40 to .50 a gal. less than the street price . If you don't shop Costco or BJ,s and you don't drive much (less than 8k miles a year) you are not saving much if at all .I shop BJ,s so it is a no brainer for me.

If you only want gas at Costco, but Costco gift cards. You can redeem them right at the pump without a membership. You can also shop in club with them without a membership.
Is that for real? Never heard that before! Assuming you can get the gift cards anywhere?

This might be the perfect solution.....get my Kroger points for buying the gift cards, and the Costco savings as icing on the cake! Awesome!

Around 8-10 cents here in the 2 Olympia, Washington area Costcos over Fred Meyer or Reservation. But they are rarely convenient for me, and the lines are usually too long.

My AMEX Blue Cash Preferred gives me 3% cash back at gas stations. I'd usually rather do that and just go where I want to go. But if I happen to be near Costco, need gas and the line is not long, I'll get it. That’s about 6-7x's per year for me.

Costco savings, up to $1.60 per tank. AMEX savings $1.80 per tank at $3.75 per gallon. And I have to use VISA at Costco.

It varies as the market changes. There was a span of at least several weeks late last year where the Costco and Sam's Club stations in the area were ~50¢/gal less than other stations. Right now, it's a whopping 8¢/gal below Meijer, Speedway, etc. Normally it's something like 20¢/gal.

The value (cost-savings) of Costco is very regional, for gas and pretty much everything else they sell. When I lived in California it was absolutely worth it, but it wasn't in Texas and it isn't here in Utah. Compare prices for your specific locale.

Here in MN I'm getting premium at or slightly lower than regular, well worth it. Also 4% back when combine with the premium membership.

Unrelated to our trucks, if anyone is looking to refinance their house I highly recommend Costco mortgage refinance, and spending extra for the premium membership which saves hundreds on the already low fee cap!

Walmart next to my house is the same price per gallon as Costco.
The only reason to have a Costco card is toilet paper and the fresh rotisserie CHICKEN
Emmmm, Costco chicken. *drool*

How can something so cheap be so good?

Yeah. I definitely wouldn't get the membership for the gas. I basically have a membership for the cheese (and Virginia peanuts 😍). Everything else is gravy.
An average savings of .10 cents per gallon to off set the $110.00 member ship fee you would need to use at least 1100 gallons of gas annually ⛽ + you would have access to shopping the warehouse for additional savings

Do you save any money at all after sitting in lines for 35 minutes to finally reach a pump?

Some quick research says this is not true. Only Costco sells Costco gift cards, and you have to have a membership. If you've actually done this, please provide details.

Figured it was too good to be true....

Correct, you have to be a member or know one who'll buy/reload a gift card for you.
Basic membership is $60, but if your a veteran, student, teacher, first responder, government, or medical professional you get a $20 card making the membership $40.

https://www.costco.com/join-costco.html?&reloaded=true (Scroll down)

I have a Sam's membership as well since it's only 2 miles from my house. I've gotten the Sam's membership free the last 3 years or more with their $45 back deals. Actually made $15 this year buying a $30 Groupon deal that included Sam's membership, apple pie, and a $45 gift card.
