Is there a way in the Hybrid to physically disconnect the hybrid high voltage battery? It's easy enough to disconnect the 12V battery at its terminals, but I don't know if there's a way to physically disconnect the HV battery as well (at least without a bunch of disassembly)?
I would not play around with the HV battery unless I knew what I was doing. Disconnecting the 12V battery in a hybrid truck, is more of a problem because it's under the rear seat.

Like others have I want the floor dimmer button back.

Another thing that would be nice is the vent windows, and the "fresh-air vent" that the 67-72 F-100 had, well my 71' had it, it was a Ranger XLT package.

Coming from an F-150/Ranger: My Maverick "Wish List"
Hey everyone, just joined the Maverick family! I’m loving the truck so far, but coming from an F-150 and a Ranger, there are a few "truck basics" I really miss. If Ford is listening, here’s what would make the Maverick perfect:

  • Better Seats: The F-150 and Ranger seats spoiled me. The Mav needs more support and Memory Settings.
  • Mechanical Essentials: A Transmission Dipstick for those of us who do our own maintenance, plus Fog Lamps and Front Parking Sensors.
  • Cabin Tech & Comfort: An Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror and a Rear Window Defroster should be standard on higher trims.
  • Ergonomics: The Infotainment screen needs to be angled toward the driver or tilted forward to cut glare.
  • The Shifter: Either bring back a Console Shifter or add physical locking detents to the rotary dial so you can feel the gear changes without looking down.
  • Utility: I’d love a Trunk in the Bed (like the Ridgeline) and Rear Seats that fold truly flat for interior hauling.
Anyone else feel like these are the missing pieces to the puzzle?

I almost think a rear window defroster should be included on all vehicles. Being able to see
clearly out the back window improves saftey.

On my Rav4 I have often wished the info screen was able to turn a small amount so I could
see it better.

Fully agree about the trunk in the bed and rear seats that fold down completely flat.
That would be awesome.

Dimmer switch on the floor.

Are we just pining for the old days, or are you guys upper-body amputees? I've had vehicles with the floor-mounted high beam switch, and I can think of zero benefits besides it just reminding me of the 1970's.

OTOH, every car I've owned in the last 30 years, plus all the rentals I can remember, had high beam stalks that operated pretty much the same way and worked just fine.

My dad had a ‘77 Chrysler New Yorker. Next to the high beam floor button was another button that would scan the “analog” radio dial. Nothing like seeing an oncoming car and changing the station. It was a very short-lived but cool option.

When I was lurking on this forum while waiting 8 months for my Maverick to arrive, I often saw people making the complaint about "no detents" and the knob "spinning freely." I was really concerned until I got my truck and discovered the shifter does exactly what you said. I've never understood that complaint.

What's a CD player?

Seriously, maybe its me, but I would like to see a table of contents in the owner's manual that is easy to navigate. Example. Wondering on the function of say the Cargo Light Switch? Go to the table of contents to C and find Cargo Lights. I dunno, must be me.
Picture of the different screen/touch areas with icons/buttons - with page number for that function. With optional spelled out right there.
Don't see the button or the icon - you don't have it.

+1 and Fog lamps...

I've driven economy vehicles mostly since 2000, and none of them have had an underhood or glovebox light. However, the Maverick is the first since then without fog lamps. I've remedied that situation, but it wasn't cheap.
As long as you're not driving around with the silly Fog lights on when it isn't foggy.
