Since most of us have been driving for decades we've all owned or rented our fair share of different vehicles. I was just wondering what features your older cars had that never became common place but wish you had on your Mav. My 2 examples are from the 90s. My Passat had a lock button on the key fob that would, if you held it down, roll up the windows and close the sunroof. Second is from a Mazda 626 that had a "sweep" button on the hvac controls. It would move all the vents side to side like floor fan. Just curious what you all remember.

My 89 Prelude had pop up headlights. It was such a cool feature.

Underhood light. Glovebox light.
+1 and Fog lamps...

I've driven economy vehicles mostly since 2000, and none of them have had an underhood or glovebox light. However, the Maverick is the first since then without fog lamps. I've remedied that situation, but it wasn't cheap.

Even better is when owners “don’t know” what cool options they have.. like the key fob windows on Accords. I enjoy doing things to other owners and not telling them how I did it.
AKA… Read the manual!

My Acura had a stereo that never locked up or rebooted itself. Not a hiccup in 10 years. That was a pretty cool feature.

My 2019 Nissan had an odometer AND an EV Odometer. it also had an Eco Mode button that you could push and it would always stay in Eco mode until you pushed the Eco Mode button again or pushed the Sport Mode button (there was nothing sporty about the 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid).

Amen to that. (y)

A transmission dipstick is an underrated feature too.

Being able to easily shift into neutral with the engine off without having to remove the airbox and use a special tool is another I can think of. Hey, but at least the little tool is included, right?!
