This is expensive and invasive. Do I need to get this spray in liner? I’m using the truck for household projects and driving cross country. Also lot of sand and water from mountain bikes/kayaks.

rhino quoted me $575 with uv cost it’s +$200

line x standard $705

line x premium with uv $850

I do plan on covering bed when not in use and do I really need uv? Apparently uv coated bed can’t be repaired it needs to be stripped and redone if anything happens.

All this sounds like $ and more problems.
Am on my second Maverick, they both came with spray in liner's, if I had to pay for one I wouldn't get it, there are rubber mats much cheaper that work fine, for regular chores were the inside walls are not getting scratched up a rubber mat is fine, you want to protect the bottom of the bed it scratches easily and will rust.

You can negotiate with LineX, Rhino etc. If there are several that offer it in your area, call them and offer cash, tell them the factory charges $495 and you will bring 5 one hundred dollar bills.

I would skip the UV protection. As LineX ages, it dulls down. you can repair any spill with flat black spray paint.

In early Mavs the crevice that runs the length of the bed was not caulked during mfg. You could see the pavement below. And debris gathered in the crevice. I caulked it with 3M auto grade body seam caulk. Is that still how the beds are made or did they start to caulk it at the factory? My 24 hybrid Mav was not caulked nor was my 22 EB.

I have the SIBL from the factory and totally happy with it after 2 years. Hauled a lot of stuff and no scrapes etc. UV protection? Not an issue if you have a cover like I do.

Since trucks became luxury items instead of toolboxes, people started trying to keep them nice. I personally like scratchs in the bed, it gives it character. And you can always spray over the scratches later if it floats your boat. I still put moving blankets in the bed to avoid scratchs but I don't sweat when one happens.

Bought the Hurculiner kit for $150 Canadian & did it myself.
Took 1.5 days - sanding & masking prep is the bulk of the job.
Spraying was maybe 20 mins.
Turned out very nice
The kit is for an 8" box so I could lay it on pretty thick.
Still have a bottle left over & am thinking of doing the front edge of the hood
Would I do it again....Maybe

didn’t find any quotes under 575.

another question. When bed is sprayed I want to take the d rings and hooks off. Is there a place to find their torque specs?

I can only vouch for Line-X here, but they take everything off and then re-attach when done. I just scheduled mine for my new truck. I believe it's $601 for the basic black. I was going to go for green, but it's much more expensive and I'm going to have a tonneau cover on it anyway.

I wonder why all these spray shops get away with charging the same price as they do for 8' bed full size pickups? It should be almost half as much.
In Portland OR, the dealer told me the shop they use, and it's $400.

I used a super heavy duty Stall Mat from Tractor Supply ($50) and cut it to fit. I also mounted the left over on the tailgate. This mat can be flipped over to expose the smooth side.

Yeah, I think I'll do that. A little weight in the back is probably a good thing.

rhino at 550. I took all the hooks and accessories out but didn’t have the large plus bit to remove d rings. I’ll put that stuff back on after a few days.

First of all, if you don't care if the bed in your truck gets all scrathed up, don't get it sprayed. Next why would you need uv protection if you have a bed cover. and last, just put a bed rug of some kind with your bed cover, and your done for less the $300.
