And disregard their allocation system? It's how their business thrives.........I know it's a tough pill to swallow for some of you who ordered from small dealerships but your small dealer should have been the one to tell you that you're far out on their order list and they only expect to get X amount of Mavericks per month. Sorry but the system works for Ford, their customer is the dealer, not you. They're going to continue to do what's best for the company even if it hurts the feelings of a few.
It might be how their business has thrived historically, putting vehicles on dealer lots and seeing how many they sell, but it's not working very well for the build to order model. Ford should either increase allocations to small dealers that get a lot of orders, or cap the orders of dealers who don't have sufficient allocations. Or some combination of both.

I partly agree with you, the smaller dealers should be more forthcoming with the fact that they in general KNOW their allocations and how many orders they have. They should tell customers, hey, here's our situation, you might want to consider going to another dealer but they probably figure they don't want to lose a potential sale and that if the customer flakes out from waiting too long they'll eventually have a high demand vehicle to sell at a markup. I personally place more of the blame on the dealerships.

I agree dealers should be more transparent with customers about their situation and not take orders they can't fill, but I think Ford could have adapted better to the order system. In so doing they could potentially keep some of the customers they are going to lose with how it's being done now.

The problem with this is that they would potentially be limiting "their" customers. The dealer's are Ford's customers not really you as a buyer. The dealers buy the cars and parts from Ford and then sell them to you at a markup. I don't think Ford wants the mess of telling "their" customers, hey, sorry, you can only order this many. Just my thinking but I can definitely see regional dealership associations fighting for this on behalf of their dealers since they're essentially like a union for dealerships.

Allocations are a double edged sword. While sometimes unfair to small dealerships, they also prevent large dealerships from selling at ridiculous discounts and taking all the small dealer sales.

Years ago (pre internut) I ordered a Ford and never saw it after 8 months then I ordered a Dodge that took 1 year to deliver in both cases I moved on before getting the vehicle as ordered but in this era of information for both Ford and my dealer to have no information and to have not received any emails from either it seems that they simply don't care about their customers really wanted a sedan anyway so maybe since they don't care about us maybe we should simply go elsewhere

I've lurked this forum for months to get some insight into when my truck might be built and delivered and found it comforting I'm not the only one that has wondered just wtf is going on at Ford. Anyway, I finally called Ford corporate today to see if they had any status on the Maverick XLT Hybrid I ordered last October from a local dealer and which Ford had long ago confirmed via email. The Ford rep told me that parts delays were a problem but are now mostly resolved and it's now transportation from rail yards to dealers that is the major bottleneck. The Ford rep assured me that the truck will be built and delivered within the next few months and they will fill all confirmed orders. They told me to contact my dealer and get a few pieces of info to better determine where I stand in their allocation.

So, I call my dealer and am informed that they just received notice from Ford this morning that no more XLTs or Hybrids will be built this year if they are not already scheduled for production. WTF!! I told my sales rep what Ford had just told me this morning, which is 100% the opposite of what the dealer had just told me and they had no explanation. I plan to call Ford again tomorrow to see what they say in response to what my dealer told me.

My dealer has been keeping me posted on the status regularly and I have no reason to believe they are lying since my sales rep told me she had to make about 10 bad calls to other customers today.

I was hesitant to buy a Ford to begin with, so if it turns out Ford has indeed screwed us, I will never consider them again. What a cluster.
Since supposedly your Maverick has not been scheduled as yet, you might consider shifting your order to another trustworthy dealer. It is possible that your dealer may be trying to steal away your order or they are just completely ignorant. Just saying.

As someone that ordered in July I really have no sympathy for you. There's a ton of people that ordered in the summer that haven't got their trucks yet. Maybe you should just buy another Toyota and move on.
Ordered my xlt lux on 7-21 also. No build date. Think there’s a conspiracy concerning July 21 orders?😀
