Remember that remote start locks the truck, if it's not already.Trickle charge or just remote start it from wherever on the planet you are once a week.
I only recommend the remote start because it is outside.
Had a spell of good weather here and rode my bike for 10 days. No problems\issues at all.So I'm going on vacation in a little over a week (flying, not driving). After seeing all the posts here and on FB about people having issues with their trucks going into battery saving mode, I'm a little concerned about my 2024 Lariat Hybrid being parked for that long.
The manual talks about disconnecting the battery or using a trickle charger for vehicles being stored longer than 30 days. Should I be worried? Anyone have any experience to share about their truck being parked for 15ish days? I could easily disconnect the battery, although losing all my settings will be a pain. I've had it almost month and just got everything set right!![]()
Yep. Worked as advertised. Was worried it would go into sleep mode faster and be dead by the time I got home.Soooo... It saved your battery so you can start it.![]()
I bet it would take a couple months before you lost enough charge to start the vehicle.Yep. Worked as advertised. Was worried it would go into sleep mode faster and be dead by the time I got home.
Mine sits in the garage all week without running. Its a weekend vehicle, no problems for almost 2 years. So I'm going on vacation in a little over a week (flying, not driving). I have had on and off battery drain issues with my Hybrid XLT (built March 2022) since taking delivery, that is until now - Recall Notice 24S27 which replaced the Body Control Module (BCM) seems to have corrected this problem. In the past I have had periods of anywhere from 4 to 8 months in which I DID NOT have a battery drain issue. This includes long periods of time (2 weeks +) in which I did not operate or even turn the vehicle on. One such time being this past January during the coldest two weeks of the season, with the truck parked outside (not garaged) and it started right up after 17 days. I suspect that if you are not experiencing a battery drain issue currently, that you will have no problem in leaving your truck parked for 14 days.So I'm going on vacation in a little over a week (flying, not driving). Appreciate the follow up!So, I decided not to do the remote starts and just see what happened. On the 14h day, 8 hours before I was due home, I got the notice that it was going into battery saving mode and remote functions weren't available. Lost access to all data from the app, but it started right up when I got home.
