So my 2024 Maverick XLT hybrid stopped communicating with Ford and the Ford Pass app does not communicate with the truck. I called Ford directly and after some on phone diag they said that they could not see the vehicle and said to bring it into the dealership. I brought it into the dealership and they replace the module that is responsible for communication. After I left I tried to connect with the Ford Pass and no luck. I get a message that authorization was not allowed. You are supposed to to get the message on the screen for you to authorize communication but I never received it. I brought the truck back to the dealership and after talking to the tech who was working on it, he said that the module is showing on the data stream but it’s just not connecting to the network. They have contacted a Ford engineer who came to the dealership last week and they are still investigating. The Maverick has been at the dealership for over two weeks. They were kind enough to provide a rental. Anyone else have this issue and how was it resolved. Thanks in advance.
Pic for attention.

No idea what might be the issue. I intentionally pulled fuse 11 to disconnect the TCU from communicating. Main reason was precautionary to possibly prevent excessive 12v battery drain, and shortened battery lifetime .

The car is daily driven and I did have the software update done to prevent the battery drain and I haven’t had any sleep issues. I really like the Ford Pass app to remote start my vehicle.

Well my Maverick has been at the dealership for over a month. It’s starting to get old. They have had a Ford engineer working on it but still no fix. The service writer told me that they had another Maverick come in and it has the identical problem.

I have the same issue on my 2025 xlt hybrid. Did Ford find a solution to the connection issue?

Yes they did find it. It was a modem issue which they replaced. Took them about a month but they did give us a rental.

A MONTH??? That sounds a bit crazy. Did they replace every nut and bolt on the truck before some genius said let's try the MAIN thing that connects the truck to the Ford App?? I don't know...maybe it's just me...although Panera did forget one of the Chicken Noodle bowls in my to-go order the other night.

For a short time I was providing customer support via phone for industrial machinery. I hated my time doing it. 1 call was a process engineer who said the control on the machine would not boot up. The first thing I asked was "did you verify there is correct voltage to the control?" He was very pissed off at that and said "I am an engineer. I know to turn the power on." So I continued on with the next steps to diagnose the issue. I would tell him things to check (this was before cellphones) he would hang up and go try and call back. After about 4 hours of this back and forth I asked " using a calibrated multi-meter set to DC what is the voltage at the power connection of the control? It is possible the voltage is too high or to low. This control needs 24v for power, 22v is too low and 26v is too high. Possibly a bad power supply." This is after he had CONFIRMED to me that the power on LED was illuminated previously. He said he would have to get a maintenance person to check since it is a union shop. I waited. He finally called back and sheepishly admitted maintenance had the entire buss bar locked out for connection of new machinery down the line and that there was a big sign on the power cabinet saying that.
So nothing surprises me when it comes to diagnostics by "experts" since then.

Yes sir a month and two visits from a Ford engineer that came in to help diag. The dealership techs couldn't figure it out so I had to wait untill a Ford engineer arrived at the dealership, diagnosed it, then parts ordered.

Its tough for the Tech's as they have no input or control on the Ford server side

I was able to pull the fuse and do a factory rest which fixed my issue for 2 months. Same thing happened again. If you go into sync info it shows no serial number for the modem. So I pulled the fuse and did the factory reset. Again fixed the issue temporarily. Going to have my dealer swap the modem for a new one.

Interesting step that allowed it to be seen again.

So communication error with at least the FDIM talking to and seeing the Modem, or maybe it gets the info from the TCU, which couldn't talk to modem.

I've actually had more issues with modules not communicating with the FDIM - cheap little thing probably timing out trying to display the rear camera view.
