My member block list is probably at about 100+ by now...
My list probably is pushing 300, but I'll ignore people for silly things, like bad grammar or avatars I just don't like. :D

Combine that with ignoring sponsors and threads of no interest, and I probably only see 10% of what goes on around here lol. I've found vigilant ignoring is a nice way to self-ration my screen time.

My member block list is probably at about 100+ by now (mostly due to the captains of industry and their Maverick Flippin' posts from the 2022-2023 era). Likewise, I'd imagine more than a few people have tuned me out as well. Regarding the impetus for this thread, I have that guy ignored, so I never even saw his infamous '25 XL Review' posts until I read through this one.. It got out of hand.

I'm definitely a proponent of 'kindler / gentler' exchanges on the innerwebs, but I enjoy the occasional harmless ribbing or throwing in a "Well Hell-Fire!" or "Well that'll make it go faster" as a response. I do have to fight the urge to respond to mean posts, blantanly arrogant posts, or folks who've obviously made no attempt to use the search function at all (e.g. the poster child: 'what's the biggest tire I can put on without a lift?'); constraint can be good even if I'm forcing myself. Presently, I'm having trouble appreciating bull bars on the Mavericks' Ford Escape derived platform without responding in a snarky fashion... So, it's a struggle... In fact, I think I might have just failed on the bull bar front... Well, we have to have a little fun. :)

Without the benefit of body language or facial expressions, it can all go misunderstood no matter how playful or well-intended it was. There can be a fine line between attacking ideas vs attacking people. Care is needed and an occasional geniune apology is helpful.
Excellent response in my opinion. None of us is perfect. We all may cross the line on occasion. What I try to do if someone takes offense at what I said and comes at me sideways is to resist the temptation to retaliate or double Down. Instead I TRY to clarify my INTENT and even apologize for how my words may have triggered something. It doesn't hurt me to do so. And it's easy to do since in 99% of the cases, I genuinely meant no harm. If I'm right, I'll sometimes argue my point to no end and won't back down. But HOW I make my point is important as well. And I can easily change that for the better

I would hope at this point in most of our lives, especially the older crowd, understands playful ribbing. Nasty comments are uncalled for.
But poking the tiger is so much fun !

The OP's first threads back in the summertime would ramble on and on about how uncomfortable the Maverick seats were and he would mention many vehicles he drove and owned that were SO much more comfortable , and yet he would get all defensive about being overweight and push back against everyone's suggestions to fix the seats , or sell the Maverick .....
...and yes , there was the speakers , cheap plastics , parking brake issues he would bring up too....
The lighter side ....we all got to hear about his tennis shoes ....😄...

I honestly think he had/has a problem ...

AMEN ....
I realized that social media seems to have revealed just how many people have some sort of unresolved emotional issues . I'm tempted to respond many times with the comment "Who hurt you? Therapy might help with that?" 🤔

I think Darryl created Synner as a sock puppet - in order to vent his frustrations with his Maverick anonymously. A bit diabolical if you ask me.

:)
I'm not that smart. 😂 And if I hate a product that much, I'd be too embarrassed to whine about it every day. I'd suffer in silence and only complain about how bad it was once I get rid of it. But I wouldn't do it on a fan page. That makes no sense to me.

This is how I know we're old. We can go off on completely unrelated tangents (shoes is one example), and no one cares. In fact, the tangents were more interesting than my original post😂😂
Awww cmon, man! We're not old. We can drive, can't we? And we can think, can't we? And we all THINK we can drive, right?

You have a point. My mother is 94. I'm her youngest of 7. She still refers to me as her baby boy. I've never seen an old baby 😂

Tabasco.

Not technically a BBQ sau e, but so fun to pour into open wounds!

"I think, therefore I can drive." - Rene DeCART
Little known fact: Rene Descartes died at a cocktail party.

The server asked, "Dr. Descarte, would you like another drink?"

And he replied, "I think not".
