Clean up area around the trailer hitch

Any idea’s on how too cover all the dead space around the trailer hitch.would like to maybe also move the license plate back to the same area to get it back where it should be.

Did you move the plate?

Maybe im wrong but didn’t the factory put a black plate in the slot where the hitch sticks out and if it had a hitch they take it out.if so,i would think i could trim that plate to fit around the hitch where it sticks out.next,i want to put the license plate in the center of all this where it should be.

Funny, my maverick came with the plate in the correct spot. Have you checked other mavericks or even photos to see where the plate is supposed to be?

I've seen a truck on FB that purchased the cover from a non hitched Mav, cut out a hole and mounted it so just the receiver sticks out.

Could try going back to the 90s and getting a plate mount inlay and cutting a hole in the tailgate to mount it in there diagonally. I tried finding pictures but google gave me nothing. I used to see em like that all the time.

See where the bumper is cut out.i think if you dont get a hitch that whole area,including what you dont see on the other side of the hitch,would have a plastic piece to cover the hole where the hitch would have come through.i want too fill that in,cut out for the hitch,just to clean it up.maybe i can get a cover in parts and just use that,which is fine.

Get a piece of AL diamond plate and make a filler for the area.

Hot runr guy you are dead on the moneyand i think this is what comes on the bumper if you dont get a factory hitch,am i rightso i need to get that piece in parts dept,cut it out and done.
