I already have 3 chipped paint spots on my hood and fender at 6k miles. I don't know how they paint cars in Mexico but something must be different. Cracked windshield and chipped paint for me already. It may just be the ride height of the Maverick, higher than a car but lower than a typical truck.

I'm at 10,000 miles....it only gets worse.

Fact: If a rock...any rock, any size, any speed, hits the Maverick, you will get a chip in the paint. I've got them all over. Worst paint I've ever had on any car.

Search my other post about needing a bed liner. Plastic bins in the back of my truck bed sliding around have removed a ton of paint, unlike any truck I've ever owned. I used to have metal tools, parts sliding around in my 90's Ranger and it looked better than this bed after years of use.

This paint is thinner than the best condom on the market :)

Ford paint is like a scratch off lottery ticket.

I've had a better $600 Maaco paint job on one of my rust buckets. The steelie rim paint is horrible as well. Someone was pushing a mop bucket on wheels next to my car and the plastic bucket hit the wheel and completely removed a 4 inch wide section of paint on the rim.

This should honestly be illegal, it will lead to rusting and vehicle deterioration way quicker.

Getting a Wrap immediately after buying one would probably be the way to go. Pretty Sad though.

After waiting 2 years for an XL. 2 months and 8k later. Already a chip on top of bumper.

Called Ford they are submitting complaint. They suggest others to call them to file same.

+ They suggested to contact the NHTSA - National Highway Traffic Safety and file complaint there too. That way Ford gets informed.

Paint shouldn't be so cheap. Had a Ford Bronco II with 200k and not a scratch.

Update. Now gotta a case number with Ford. And a GTAC/DDAP claim.

1st go around they denied.

But am doing the dance with them since I just got another chip from nowhere.

It's normal, if you drive daily it happens more frequently especially in the winter with road treatment.

One of the first things I always do with a new vehicle purchases by a tube of touch-up paint. I've already touched up rock chips on the roof, passenger front fender, passenger a pillar and I have just the tad over 7000 mi on mine.

If you're good you can blend them in or you'll never know they were there with wet sanding and some polish.

Newer paints have less toxic chemicals in them, so of course they're not as thick and strong.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/

Then go to https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#vehicle/incident-information
Choose Other
Then you can list your complaint.
If you call, like I did. Then you can get an ODI# and then email them to post up pictures.

Talked with both Ford and NHTSA so they both said you could also reference my number - Ford Case CXH-03150929-Y5S4F8

The more we tell 'em. The more likely they can look into it.
had two other Fords, a'67 LTD and Bronco II where they both were driven easily over 100,000 and no rock or paint chips whatsoever.

Yep, on plenty of Texas back roads.
Maybe the roads in Oklahoma are worse.
