We already indirectly support the CCP with goods and components in US made goods.

I would not send 100% of my hard earned money to the CCP. A me too product at most.

If we can not get a Lightning to tow more than 90 miles and a Rivian can't even tighten their steering wheels you guys think a product made by a country that views its citizens as a commodity will produce a vehicle that will be reliable?
I already have Disney+ so I guess I am supporting slave/child labor so I can't talk about that part of it. But what makes me sick in the stomach supporting a country that is actively pursuing our country's downfall

Let the boys and girls down under be their market. Not here not ever

Just another piece of Chinese junk. No thank you. Just what we need more product infiltration from a communist country.
The vast majority from China is junk because that's the quality that buyers are demanding. Generally you can buy items on the 75% off clearance rack and the item will still sell for 5-10 times it's actual cost. imported

Google tracks you too. So what? It's to sell you more stuff. They want your money, not your soul. What is it you're doing or where are you going that you care whether someone tracks you or not? Be boring and no one will care.
Wrong tech is slowly setting up a social credit system like they have in China. All that info they collect is going into profiles that will eventually be used to determine things like interest rates on loans based on your political beliefs for example. We just call it a less threatening identity like social equity.

Actually that is only true because that is what the suppliers want. They want it as cheap as possible. You can get high quality stuff from a chinese manufacturing facility but you pay more for the stringent quality control. This isn't the old days when pride ruled the roost and people put their best foot forward regardless of how much they got paid or skill level.

Exactly what I was saying the junk from China is what is being ordered not the good stuff.

Perhaps in the future trailers will come with a supplemental battery pack to extend the range of the truck
Probably won't offset the extra weight, a lot of extra weight.

I’ve got a better idea. Build a skid that will fit between the fender wells. Put a gas powered or diesel powered generator with an extra battery on it.😉
This way, you can brag about having an All Electric PU that never needs to be plugged in 😳

I'm not sure if I can take a Chinese-made pickup seriously, but on the other hand if this company Geely who is apparently now the parent company of Volvo is for real, this little EV pickup could possibly be a Maverick Challenger. What do you think?
https://carnewschina.com/2022/07/12/geelys-radar-brand-unveils-rd6-electric-pickup-truck-in-china/

And here's some video
Interesting in that from the side it looks exactly like the Maverick. I'm sure the Chinese would never copy one our vehicles. (sarcasm)

As much as NIO, Geely, XPeng, and Li Auto are pricing their EV vehicles, this truck will be most likely be in the neighborhood of around $50K-$55K. Just think Lyriq (Cadillac) and Rivian pricing.

The NIO SUVs for those mentioned from China start at over $70K U$D.

If money is no issue or no object, by all means they are affordable, but for most, it will not. The Mav Lightning pricing should not be more than what a Lariat Hybrid fully loaded goes for in 2024. If so, they will not sell many.

Just my 2 cents or 2 yuan.
----------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE: Apparently it will start at just over $25K.

Here's an article on the pricing ...... I stand corrected.
https://cnevpost.com/2022/09/29/radar-begins-pre-sales-of-rd6-electric-pickup/
That's the price in China for a Chinese spec truck. Once you add the 25% "Chicken Tax" on imported small trucks & whatever is needed to make it US spec, the price will be over 35000.00

no chinese cars ever make it to our market. our crash test standards are worlds higher than chinese. there is no way they could build a car that would pass, ship it here, and undercut the competition enough for anyone to even consider buying one. auto blogs have been posting stuff like this since blogs were a thing.

It’s like a Honda Ridgeline raped a Tesla Model 3.

And that’s not counting all the patent infringements on a single model.

When fully loaded or towing a trailer the range goes down to a crazy level- like 100 miles. There are lots of tests out there on video.
Gassers are much the same. EB owners have reported ~14 mpg when towing.

Wrong. The Buick Envision is Chinese and it is already here.
