Go to your local Kia dealer and see if the either have one or can track one down for you.
This needs to be a FAQ for this thread...

I clicked on each link, and only the one I bolded (and turned yellow where possible) showed as in stock. But when I ordered it, I received a cancellation email within less than 20 minutes.

What they do have available is this mirror assembly (for a 2014-18 Kia Soul), that looks identical. Has anyone tried one of these? Not as affordable as $11.49, but still under $70.00

Like many others recently, I struck out on all the really cheap Kia mirror links; all came up "discontinued" on several sites. I finally hit pay dirt with this link:

https://www.kia.parts/oem-parts/kia-auto-dimming-mirror-with-homelink-and-compass-a9062adup0

This 2017 Sedona mirror seems identical to those described in multiple Maverick installs (and a bit bigger than the OEM mirror—a plus), and cost me $56.36 ($45.20 + $11.16 S/H). Be aware that Kia.parts will ask for your VIN if you don't supply it with your order, to avoid mistakes and returns. I sent my Maverick VIN and said I was adapting it, and they processed the order, which took a couple of weeks to arrive (delayed a couple of days because I initially missed their emailed VIN request). Before posting this I inquired as to their stock; they said they had 500 on hand...

I installed it last night after reviewing Dave's video:

A couple of installation notes:

YMMV on removing the two panels to access the wiring (and remove/install the mirror). Unlike others', the front (camera) panel really fought me when I tried prying it down on the right side (with a recommended plastic body tool). However the left rear fastener yielded more readily, and the other three followed suit after I got my fingers under the panel. The rear (light/sunroof) panel was much easier; the only clips are two near the rear, and unlike those in the video above, on my late '23 they're now on the rear sides instead of the back, and yield without the fiddling he describes.

I went the soldered splice route for the ground and two hots (switched and constant), and everything's working fine. However, this is fiddly overhead work on a very short tether; if I had to do it over again I'd use T-taps or the PosiTaps suggested by others. Easier yet would have been the plug-'n-play adapter harness offered for awhile by another member. There are good instructions and parts sources for making one's own, but I was too impatient to go through that.

BTW, since I have a single 16' garage door, I programmed it to operate on all of the three Homelink buttons, using the existing remote, so I can just hit any of them. This worked fine with my 26-year-old Sears Craftsman (Chamberlain by any other name) cogged-belt-drive opener. My range is a couple of houses away—much better than the remote I had Velcroed in the driver door pocket (and no batteries to replace ;-)

HTH, ~Ken

After fighting with the plastic tool. I found that you can just push up against the headliner with the top of your fingers. Jam your fingers into the panel with both hands and pull hard downwards. And both sides of the top will pop off easy.

I ordered twice, and the first time, I got the "what's your VIN?" email. I just responded to their email that I did not have the VIN handy, but would take responsibility for it being the right part and would not return it. The second time, I included a similar note with the initial order and they never delayed asking me for the VIN.

Amazing this thread is still going after 77 pages of comments over nearly two years.

It’s a very good thread. Learned a lot here that allows me to purchase and install this mirror. Even made a video of my installation to share.
Just an example of what the MTC can do for Mav owners.

Just a FYI, you can go to any Kia dealer and get his mirror, I'm sure it comes from a Kia Dealer in Gilbert.

Anybody know where to buy one of these plugs, with wires attached.

1702247938307.png
I just built a patch cord with parts from Mouser Electronicsand some 22ga wires.
You need:
1- 538-34792-0080 Female 8-pin socket that fits the above male plug
1- 538-34791-0080 Male 8-pin plug as in your picture
10- 538-560023-0421-LP Loose pins
5 - 6" pieces of 22 ga wire, multiple colors preferred for ease of not screwing up
5 - short pieces of heatshrink tubing for keeping the pins insulated on the back side of the female plug
A roll of cloth tape.
A soldering gun

Mouser shipped quickly and it was less than $20 total for these connectors and pins, along with a 12-pin set as my first plan was to use the 12pin connector in the camera section instead of the dome light. But this was easier. I ran my Kia mirror plug to the purple (switched on) and the black (ground) wires in the patch cable. I will likely tear it open to add more for my dashcam.

my issue is i need to cut the existing plug as I connected the wires too short. my install works, but it seems to be wired wrong.. Everything seems to be powered all the time.. I wired black/white from the mirror to yellow/back, and black from the mirror purple.. If I buy the socket, how tough is it to connect to the four wires, plus ground..

Not sure exactly what you are asking as far as cutting. That male plug is easier to wire than the female plug. What is too short? The Ford wiring? The mirror wiring?

As far as power, I think most of us run the Kia ground to the ground (black) and BOTH the other KIA wires to the Purple. Purple is switched 12v; yellow is constant on. No need to have the homelink powered for me when I am not in the vehicle, with the ignition on.

i used wire taps to connect the mirror wires to the the male plug wires and cut them too short. If I get a new plug, i can cut the old one off attach the new ones to the existing wires and then redo the mirror wires (correctly this time). do I attach pins to new wires and them put them into the bare plus.. will I need to soder them in ??
