Are you driving a hybrid? The battery on mine is under the seat. When I click the link the battery shown says it will not fit the Maverick in big red letters.
Yes, I have a hybrid but just a few months old. I've been lucky so far, but when time comes, I'll investigate into a different battery.

It may not "FIT" for many reasons. Maybe because it does not exactly meet Ford's design parameters as to charge voltages, etc. maybe Ford has not tested and verified it will fit? So red letters = CYA. it's most likely a little taller than stock as most are but again= ?. Apparently some are managing to install it?

There is a write up about how to install AGM Batteries. It will fit. Slight modifications may need to happen depending on the brand you buy, but they will fit........and they are lighter than a flooded battery.

Don't overthink it: just put any AGM battery in there, reset the BMS and call it good.

You'll find that random low battery voltage conditions & deep sleeps go away.

This is the battery I put in: UPlus AGM Group 140R, drops right in. Zero issues since installing it 15k miles ago.

What I did was measured the dimensions of my old battery. Most of the AGM batteries will be slightly taller than your stock battery. Some will be slightly wider. If the AGM battery dimensions are off, the website will say "not for your vehicle". If it is taller, but not wider, it will slide right in and not affect the seating (in the hybrids). If it is slightly wider, a slight modification may need to be done, but you will still be able clamp it down secularly.

Thanks for that information CurtisB. Very helpful. I have had no problems yet, but know it will be coming and want something that will fit. Now if I just knew Forscan to raise the charge level from 80 to 95%!

Not one Deep-Sleep or Drive Vehicle message since swapping out the pathetic EFC T4 for an H5 AGM. The truck comes configured for an AGM from the factory, but with an Enhance Flooded Cell (EFC) installed. Likely 99% of the Deep-Sleep issues result from that tiny battery.

This has probably already been answered in the forum somewhere, but does swapping out the 12v batt yourself versus the dealership doing it for you, void any warranties?

I put in an LN1 AGM after optimizing it with
My Genius 5 then resetting BMS and letting it rest for 8+ hours. Never looked back. Consistently rests at 12.6v to 12.8v and charges at 14.6v to 14.8v as I drive. Two months in and no deep sleep issues. What came out of Mav was a 390 CCA POS …. It was only slightly better than the 350 CCA battery in my JD LX 280 garden tractor!!! I can’t believe Ford would install a “play” battery in good conscience. What did they think was going to happen ??????
I have a genius 1, how do I "optimize" the battery and what does this do?

The funny thing on the Amazon site, It never asks you if your Maverick is a hybrid????

I bet that is why it says it doesn't fit. I am pretty sure the EcoBoost has a different battery and that is what the fitment chart is going by. Just a guess.

I have a genius 1, how do I "optimize" the battery and what does this do?
A Genius 1 might be a bit light for the task. I have a Genius 5. Once the Noco charges the battery when you get to the green light, it then optimizes the battery over the course of a day or two, depending on the amps for your Noco, where you’ll have a single green pulsing indicator. Your Genius 1 may take a lot longer to charge and optimize.

The Noco Genius optimizes the battery by ……
  • Adjusting charging cycle
    The Genius’s thermal sensor monitors the temperature and adjusts the charging cycle to prevent over or under-charging. This helps avoid under-charging in cold weather and over-charging in hot weather.

  • Detecting and repairing sulfation
    The Genius can automatically detect and repair sulfation or acid stratification, which can extend the battery's life and improve performance.

  • Using multilayered charging profiles
    The Genius's optimization step uses multiple charging profiles to increase run time and performance, and to optimize the battery's specific gravity.

  • Providing ongoing maintenance
    After the battery is fully charged, the charger will continue to provide ongoing maintenance and optimization until disconnected.

I've just about given up on my OEM 12v battery, too many deep sleeps and dealer always says it's ok but when I check at home it's 11.7 V.
If I change to an AGM battery besides battery reset procedure does anything need to be changed in forscan and if so anyone in middle TN besides dealer can make the change if needed
Did your deep sleep issues lead to you not being able to enter or start the vehicle or were you just annoyed with the notifications?
