The air filter is a bit smaller than I thought. As you can see after 2 plus years it’s accumulated quite a bit of dirt.

At first when I read 2 years I was like HOLY $H!T, but; then I noticed you have a hybrid. I understand now.
I replaced my filter at 15K (7 months) But I have an EcoBoost. Mine looked just like that; maybe even worse. Sometimes I wish I would have gone with the Hybrid.
But..... The negative posts about deep sleep and such forced my thoughts to go EcoBoost; as I already had experience with that engine and tranny on the wifemates 2020 Edge (traded on a 2024 Edge in May) Same exact Engine same exact PTU and RDU. So everything I order for filters and such are for 2 vehicles.

Hope you alls Holidays are Merry Merry and Happy Happy!!!!

The filters at Wally world don't fit even though it says it's for the Maverick, I have the OEM, I'll try the acetone because the Stealership is getting $30 bucks for a new one. Tired of getting spanked.

Please ignore my post about the acetone. I know nothing about chemistry. I paid like $19 for the filter from Amazon.

Yeah hybrids have no need for regular maintenance and clean filters.
Well the ICE does not run as much as ours............... If they are City Divers, they might have 15K on the ODO, but the ICE ran 5K. Make Sense Now?

I do "Get it". Mine looked the same after 15K in 7 months. So ya......... Dunno what you do. But I look at mine every oil change. That's NOT bad at all. Seen much worse. Much Much worse. Hell I got a 2018 6.7L Diesel. Looks like that after 8K. Milage and use are what I go by. SHIT. If I changed mine everytime I had a lil discoloration (gots look at the other side) I would change every 5K oil change. You do you, Ill do me. That Dudes Filter on a Hybrid looks decent for what it is. I dunno, If there is nothing on the clean side I go with it. Who else does not do the same? Speak up folks. Do you Change your filter after its a lil dirty on the Bottom side? Or do you wait?

I would love a consensus at this point.

And If you work at a Jiffy Lube or a quick lane; PLEASE DON'T chime in. I know your tactics.

I had a guy come out with a filter that was NOT sized for my vehicle (FORD Quick Lane). (Round cylinder vs FLAT) Tried to tell me I needed a filter. LMFAO! I was like; "Show me where that filter goes in my Car" We Walked out to my Crown Vic and I saids "Okay; show me"

He was Like "I guess; it was the other vehicle in the bay" I was like "Thats a 5.4L Triton Filter; None were in the shop"

He walked away; tail between his legs!

As per my earlier post, my classic car has a filter in that's 35 years old, granted it doesn't get used nuch.the k&n filter in my ram is over 15 years old, I know that's reusable. Our mavericks filter is almost 3 years old and 27,000 miles, doesn't look bad,I blow it out with compressed air every spring. will probably change it in a cpl more years at 40- 50 thousand miles.

I remember the oil bath air cleaners, you could pour off the oil scrape the crap out of the housing rinse the element out in the Zep tank reinstall everything with fresh oil, used to be a great filter, though messy, both of my mid 50's Pontiacs had them on top of a hooking 348 cid V8.
