I never bought the K&N hype, it seems gimmicky and more work than it was worth.

More work?

Not!

Done correctly you touch them 3 times every 20 years.

P.S. they work better the longer you keep them in there.

There are different opinions on the K&N's.
Go figure. Obviously an anomaly because everyone agrees on "the best" oil..

I've read lots of complaints on off road forums that they allow too much dirt to pass through.
In city driving that could be less of a concern, or not.
Maybe off road just makes it more obvious.

The good news for Maverick owners is how easy it is to change the air filter of your choice.

I like how the Motorcraft Filter has gold cellophane strips that lift & separate the filter elements

And be VERY careful with the (2) clips on the sides, they are surprisingly easy to break off.

Dust itself is a dust magnet. Like a wok or a cast iron pan - too clean doesn’t function nearly as well as a properly seasoned one. Season your K&N properly for best results.

Or pop in a Motorcraft like me - just not too soon!
