With the delays, I've changed my configuration many times (in my head) and once with the dealer. I started w/XLT + LUX + Moon + Co pilot 360 and went to Lariat + Lux + Moon + Co Pilot 360 but am now even considering downgrading to XL + Moon + Co Polit 360.
Why? Because I don't know what purpose this vehicle has. I already have three other vehicles, including a 2015 F150 3.5L EB, along with a high mileage 2006 Subaru and a very low mileage 94 Camaro Z28. I also have a child (19) who thinks the truck is his (but is only here part time as he is in school during the winter - w/o any of the vehicles).
Further complicating this is that money isn't the real sticking point - I could buy any version I wanted to (including a new F150), but offsetting this is that I am cheap and don't like overpaying for anything (I bought my 2015 F150 XLT 302A + Tow Pkg for 34K ... new).
I originally got interested in the Maverick after looking into the Bronco - I might have ponied up to order a Bronco if I had any thought that it would be a reasonable time to get it. Right now, it is way too much hassle factor (and obviously given the market no deals to be found).
Thinking that the Maverick might end up in my son's hands, one thought is "XL + safety stuff" is the value play, no need for more. That might even be true it I were the primary driver. Right now, my order is Lariat + Lux etc., assuming I am going to be the primary driver - and if true also as a way to keep me from wanting to just drive my F150 (which I spent some $ on in upgrading the sound system).
Alternatively, another approach is to just .... wait. Cancel the Lariat order and wait a year or so to see where things are with the Bronco and/or Maverick w/Hybrid + AWD, along with the assumption that my Subaru will be reading for the junk yard. Even if the Subaru goes sooner, I still have my Camaro to pleasure drive in the summer and F150 for all else.
Part of the problem with the waiting is it makes me rethink the impulse buy.
